Hello, the name's Joshua. I'm seriously thinking about buying a 355 within the next 3 months.

I have a couple cars (GM) and I consider them to be a "poor man's Ferrari." ;)

    Anyways, here's a couple shots of my favorite- 2002 Firehawk- 515 bhp/ 6 speed/ 4.11 gear ratio. Best 1/4 mile time is 11.4 @ 124mph on street tires.

All work was done by me. Here are a couple shots of the engine and car.

    Welcome!

Man, makes me embaressed..I don't even WASH the engine in my 25th Anniversary Trans Am LT1 6 speed......LOL!

It's a different felling in the 308GTBs, with the weight behind you..you are about 6' lower to the road as well!

I've been a passenger before in a 355 and it was a treat to say the least. Lots of attention.

I found a finance company that has extended terms (up to 120 months!!!) @ 8.9%.

I'm thinking about a 20k downpayment (my limit) on a $70k 355 financed over 96 mo using collector insurance should keep my payments around $750 per month max.

That seems worth it to me for such a fine machine. Of course I'd have to figure in service costs and so on, but..... :)

IMO, to finance a depreciating investment for a long period of time, is not a wise financial decision.

Yeah, but the financed price will be around 55k. (after my 20k down.) It's hard to believe that a 355 will ever be worth much less than that.

    It's not like I'm financing a Mustang.

I can pay the whole principle even with the 10k in finance charges over time I can get the enjoyment out of the horse and still get most of my money back if I want to sell it in the future.

Buying a Ferrari when it's almost fully depreciated can't really be a bad choice. If I bought the car brand new then it would be a totally different thing. ~Joshua

And you will have paid $92k for a car worth $70k today.

In 8 years, what do you think the car will be worth?

I know, it's hard to say!

That is a really nice car. I'm a former Trans Am owner myself. (15th anniversary) I don't know about financing that much of a Ferrari. Maybe look into a 348 or a 328 and only finance 25k to 30k. It seems to me that $750 a month for 8 years on a car I will only drive sporadically is too much. But it is your money and your car. Good luck. If you are going to do it, post pics, the 355 is a great looking car.

Man, I'm real dissapointed in that ugly radiator hose clamp you've got in there.

Seriously though, great looking car. I know GM used composite intakes, and less intake charge heat build up is the big deal, but your alum one is awsome, and one can't complain about your perf.
