just got back from a great run at Thunderhill with the car. had a better time than at Buttonwillow a couple weeks back. right-rear tire was near treadmark, but the tires performed nonetheless. had a blast.

p.s., the guy in the passenger seat was 6' 7" and was just barely able to fit (shins were up against the glove box!). tried to see if he would fit to drive the car, but no go... :)

Thanks for the pics, Henry! How did you find the E-gear performance on the track? How was turn in at turn 1? How were the brakes?

Inquiring minds want to know ... :D

It's great to see that you track your Gallardo, must be a lot of fun.
What are some of your impressions of how it held up at the track? Also, how well did the brakes hold up?

my pleasure. actually, mine is a 6-speed. i did get caught up in the gate a couple times (one time into 1st when i thought i was going into 3rd, but caught it just in time).

turn in at turn 1 was really superb. although, to be frank, as this was only my 2nd track event with the beast, i probably only went about 7/10ths of its potential.

the brakes were just absolutely superb. i can't say enough about how good they are. tremendous stopping power. i was able to late brake a lot of the cars out there, and most of them had been modified units. no discernable fade all day.

The only important thing in a lapping day is to bring the car home undamaged - you're out there to have fun, not set lap records. I probably shouldn't even have asked. Glad you had a great time with the car.
