Love the vette. Beautiful color. Not dull like the silver, and not bright like the yellow. Perfect choice. Very classy.

I love the tinted lights treatment. Gives it the mean look. ALso nice job on the wheels. Fabulous car. I know you need a rollbar, but for some reason to my eyes it doesn't seem to fit with the car. I can't tell if its the color or just the bar itself.

Love the gix, I am a gixxer guy too. Have couple of SRADs from back in the day, and new 750. Nice bike.

Not digging the wheels on the CHerokee though.

Anyways, enjoy them in good health. Be safe and stay away from the cops :)

    William,

Do you know what the official name of that 93 color is? Is that some kind of teal?

I remember that body style had a plum/purple color. THat was just stunning.

I like the vette, all of them. I dont really like the black rims on the first vette though. But what ever floats your boat. The c4? series of vettes I didnt really like, but the blueish color changed my mind about that.

Aj - a very nice set up, congrats.

I have a C5 soft top, and I'm very interested in any info you can provide on the roll cage/roll bar you put in you car. I am pretty much interested in keeping my corvette stock, but the idea of a possible roll over with no support is a concern of mine.

    Enjoy your car..

Thanks William. How much are those year Vettes going for? Purple one to be precise, or a hot red one ?

    Long term reliability?

I will probably never buy an open top car after what i've experienced yesterday, roll-cage or not.

While on the highway, i notice this semi-truck tire/wheel or a tire/wheel of similar size airborne (50 some feet in the air), and watched it as it crashed down on this poor explorer 4 cars in front of me right over the drivers head. The driver side roof section was dented/crushed in badly, and the force of the impmact reached the drivers head, knocking him out while he was going 40+mph, which forced him to hit a wall. I take it the wheel came loose off a semi and it hit the middle wall seperating traffic with such force that it got airborne. Hence why i noticed it 50 some feet in the air. I couldn't see the truck because the wall seperating us was like 5+ feet high.

Anyways, i could only imagine how much worse things would have turned out for that guy if he had an open top car. He would have been crushed and killed instantly. Crazy. That explorer's hard roof was a life saver.

Btw: guy regained conciousness by the time i left him and will survive. He wasn't breathing when we got to him though, someone had to do mouth to mouth. Scary. I don't know him, but i wish him the best of luck in recovering.

I'm really happy w my Vette. Ive had a lot of good times in that car. When I think of Corvette I think of LeMans but I also think of the Doors, The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean :)

Its very reliable, parts are a lot cheaper than a Ferrari, Some materials like the plastic are better quality than Ferrari plastic which gets all sticky & nasty
The AC blows cold all the time & its a great looking car.

I think you can find 1 w low miles in the $20s That will beat the snot out of a new Mustang or a 308 for that matter :) With a few upgrades it will hang w a 355

I'll soon have abouyt 420 hp in mine w Lingenfelter heads, cam, borla exhaust & a K&N & porterfield brakes. All this for under $5k in upgrades

William, thank you for the information. Since I got rid of my MCS, I have been looking for something fun to replace it. I have been playing with the idea of either getting a Mazdaspeed Miata (turbo charged one). They are selling them for about 19K new. Or an older Vette. However, never having owned an American sports car (I had a Navigator before, which spent more time at the dealer with tranny problems than in my driveway), I am a bit leary. If those Vettes can be had in the 20s, I may be giving it some serious thought. Can you let me know what years to look at and if any particular ones to stay away from? Thank you, sir.

    hey guys!
thanks for all the compliments!!! i appreciate them all...

    to answer a few questions..

Mojo: the rims are actually Z06 Repro rims... they were powder coated black. tires in the rear a 305/35/18 Nitto 555R Drag Radials. the fronts are 275/45/17 Michilen Pilot sports...

EuroDino: the roll bar is actually a 6 point roll cage. it was done by Spectre Werkes in TX. not sure on pricing of it... also, there is a bar that goes from the passenger side floor to the center of the roll bar. its a pretty solid pipe...welded to frame.. it also does get in the way of the soft top, soo there was custom hinges made to fit the lid and the roll bar...

yes, the car is lowered on stock bolts, i think it was lowered 1.5"... if i recall correctly... it looks cool, but i tell ya, its a PITA to drive daily...gotta watch for dips in the road... the exhuast dumps are literally 2.5" off the ground, so those scrap all over the place...

any other questions, give a holler...
    Aj

Miatas are nice & fun but they are a bit fem. ASk yourself how many times has a Miata won its class at LeMans ? :) Now how about Corvette ? Maybe 5 x. Done deal :)

My GF has a supercharged Miata & My C4 would blow its doors off when the C4 was stock.

I love Vettes, they remind me of Daytonas, Big & Brawny, & my C4 sounds great w the Borla exhaust, like an old big block

RE the C4 I would go for a 94 or newer as they have a little more power. The Grand Sport edition is maybe $30k bcus it was a special edition & its very nice. Of course theres the ZR1 which rocks.

    I think you can find a C5 z06 in the $30k's

    check out http://www.Corvetteforum.com

Do you want the car for the track ? Then the Z06 is definately the way to go

For commuting I got mine w an auto trans bcus I didnt feel like rowing through Miami traffic & I already have a race car.

I did have to rebuild the auto trans to drag race spec bcus I love the big torque coming off a stoplight :)

c5 z06 in the 30s? you gotta be kidding me! I will check out the forums thanks :)

No, not for the track. No auto for me. I would rather deal with the 1-4 skip shift manual :)

True the miata mazdaspeed maby be considered fem. but 220hp (with downpipe.exhaust) and 2500lbs sound good plus 4 year 50 k mile warranty

but the torque of the vette is appealing. Yeah I know about those Zr1s..something special. Not sure what the gransport is (rembmer reading about it ages ago). Will check it out.

Thanks for the info, I owe you one. :)
