Check out the size of the rotor and caliper, they almost touch the hoop of the 19" wheel. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The exterior looks great along with the wheels - the interior reminds me of Cocoa Puffs Cereal - yuk Nice car though Mario
Is it even fair to associate Porsche when talking Ruf? The car is so... "beyond" Porsche, that all it really does, is wear Porsche clothing. Ruf is it's own animal it seems.
Love the rear treatment, but their last set of wheels were much better looking. In fact I'd go so far as to say that they're probably the best looking wheels on the market including Aston (who is the only OEM manufacturer to make attractive wheels, IMO - Ferrari, Porsche, MB, etc. are all junk in that dept). --Dan
RUF offers a few different wheel options for the RT12. The standard RUF 5-spoke is probably the one your thinking of, and does look good on the car. The first one in the US came is in DFW, and has the 5-spoke wheels. The wheels on the white car appear to be OZ Superleggera III's. OZ makes some of RUF's wheels. RUF has also used Speedline and BBS in the past, if my memory serves. It generally comes down to what the client wants. When you're forking over $300k+ for a RUF car, you can pretty much get what you want. Check out www.rufautocentre.com for more pics of the white RT12 as well as the orange one that's here in Dallas.
road and track has a story of a wild green supercharged 997 ruf that sells for close to 997tt $ at about 135k. seems sooo much nicer than tt. i would take it over the 997 gt3 that im awaiting too but i want a lease and service at local dealer
I may be off a little here, but from what I gathered, it's based on the same block as the 996 TT, which took its basic design from the GT1 and is very durable. Apparently the 997 motors can handle a lot, but not as much. There are different power options for the Rt12, ranging all the way up to 650 bhp. It can be specified in 2wd or 4wd, depending on how nutty the buyer happens to be. I've ridden in a 996 GT2 with a 550 bhp RUF conversion, and even with Pilot Sport Cup (semi-slicks) it's a handful. But it was definitely quick. And 95Spiderman: I've ridden in a 997 R Kompressor, like the green car in R&T, as well. For the money, I'd take it over the 997TT in a heartbeat! Very strong performance, and I imagine the reliability won't be an issue. RUF provides a warranty on their work, and basic services should still be within a Porsche dealer's capabilities. If you're even remotely interested, it would be worth your while to contact Wayne or Hans (see link above). (Disclaimer: I do not work for RUF. I'm just a fan of their products, and know the guys that run the US shop. My shop also happens to be right next door to theirs.)
Wow $350,000 for the 650HP model ? Exterior looks fantastic and what an ar*e ! I have a real soft spot for RUF's especially the CTR2. I see they have a used one for sale. "OnRamp" Whats with the crazy skyline in your neck of the woods ? Looks like huge Pyramid and god knows what next to it in the background of that picture. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I only wish we had hills and smoe skyline like that in DFW!! Since RUF Auto Centre is the only RUF dealer in the US, they get some consignments from around the country and occassionally the world, so the photos may be from the car's current residence, not DFW. Speaking of CTR2's, they just sold another one, a silver CTR2 Sport, but the client has yet to take delivery of it. It's sitting in their showroom at the moment. At their recent anniversary part, there wer 3 CTR2's in attendance, one track-only car, and two street cars. Check out their photo gallery for some more good shots.
