    Yes that's true, even the owner in HK doesn't need to drive it to UK/Monterey by themself, but it must need a long time to wait, and may also generate a high value of shipping fee.

    For some serious owners in HK, they may have several similar cars in different places, for example, Jonathan Hui, he has a Pagani Zonda one-off in HK, but he also has another one-off in London, and almost all his vintage Ferraris (250 GT California SWB, 275 GTB, 250 GT SWB and so on) are in Europe too, similar with Sir Michael Kadoorie, he has a registered DB4 GT in HK, but I also met his 250 TR58 #0728TR in last year's Goodwood Revival, so I think most of the HK owners are "well-preparerd", they could have crazy collection in HK, but probably, there would be a larger collection of them in London or Monterey.

    BTW just find this picture on internet, it was taken on 2017 Chantilly & Montlhéry, for me it is a bit strange but I'm not sure, is it a real one? I have never seen a California Spyder SWB in this shade, I know 2249GT is (or was) in Verde but 2249GT isn't a hardtop.

    Just FYI (the genuine 250 GT SWB California Spider ) 2249 GT does have a factory hardtop but the car on the photo you posted (post #4003) is a total replica/fake.

    And some people are claiming, the hardtop on the fake is from 2935 GT. I do NOT know, if this is correct.

    While owned by Tony Podell, in September 1996 it was driven during the Colorado Grand by some CHP official, Mike Dopudja in Denver thereafter rebuilt the engine.
    The car has since been sold several times.
