I moved from a 430 to this car and I can tell you that it will bring much motoring joy. I am not sure that there is a better time than now to move into one. With what I am observing, the design, performance and the significance of it being the last naturally aspirated V8 will give it a special place in the evolution of the mid engine Ferrari. I find myself somewhat uninterested in the subsequent models due to the turbo engines (totally stellar, by the way) and the styling which is getting a little too Lambo for my taste (74 year old grandpa). The 458 hits all the right notes for me.
I guess I need to just drive one when the time is right. I love my F430 so much, yet people keep telling me how much more engaging the 458 would be...I know it likely is the better car all around, but man, for now, that 430 spider hits all the right notes for me. The sound, harsh shifts, and frankly even the body styling. Main reason I will / want to switch in the mid term, is that I just want the new tech (hard top roof, better tranny, etc). Mine only has 22K miles on it (and while still runs like a top), its hard to ignore that she is 13 years old...! Anyway, thanks for the input, and happy motoring!
