Agree. The gauges are one of the best parts of the 348 vs the 355. I really dislike the 355 gauges compared to the perfect font, perfect color 348 versions.
Ive only driven it about 30 miles because of the crummy weather weve had in CT, but it drove great! Tomorrow will be the first time at the track with it at Lime Rock. Looking forward to just pounding laps to really get familiar with how it drives!
Have you driven it? Or raced on it? If not, i'd maybe hold your giggles. All of the turns are very different and two turns (up-hill and down-hill) require major balls and commitment to go fast. I've raced at probably 90% of the road courses east and south of Road America, and never thought to myself at any track, 'hmmm...needs more right or left handers.' Just my two cents.
Never it person but I drive/race it all the time in iRacing. I just always found it funny that it’s practically a “right handed oval” except for turn 2. haha. I don’t know why. It’s a distinctive thing about that track. And I agree about the turns, every one is a different challenge and some need big (virtual even) balls. My chuckle about it doesn’t mean it sucks—far from it. But a VIR it is not, you know?
Gotcha. You're right, it's not VIR or Road America, but it's also alot more fun than some pretty flat and featureless places ive raced. Alot of fun spending a few hours hitting it for the first time in the 348. Car ran great!
For the first time since I broke my left tibial plateau while skiing in Feb, I drove my 348. It felt good! (Had surgery to correct 6 weeks ago.) Today was the All-Italian Meet at XXX Root Beer in Issaquah. It was lightly attended as the threat of rain was there, but actually it stayed dry and kept getting dryer as the day wore on. Lots of 500s, a couple of 124s and Alfa Spiders. A couple of Betas, GTV6s, and a gaggle of Giulias (two Quads) and Stelvios. One beautiful dark green X1/9 that I forgot to look at before I left. A Mondial QV Cab was the only other Ferrari there today. In previous years usually there have been a good handful of Ferraris and Lamborghinis too. (Notice I didn’t type “Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s.”. hahaha.). None today besides me and the Mondial. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
