SoCal1: I will try to get some more pictures and post them. Barry: I'm jealous! We lost our track a few years back and it would be fun to try the car somewhere where it would be in it's element - just for a track day or two of course. No wheel to wheel stuff for this car any longer.
Finally some better weather again in Eastern Montana. Took the girls to the "spa" after work today. I'm going to rub them down with some more Zaino this weekend. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Robb, You should take your Berlinetta to some DE events near you. The F355 is set up well for road courses. Watkins Glen has some nice elevation changes... http://image.modified.com/f/roadtests/modp-1204-watkins-glen-track-review/35860541/modp-1204-02%2Bwatkins-glen-track-review%2Belevation-map.jpg The photographer was shooting with a Nikon D2X and an AF-S NIKKOR 400mm f/2.8G ED VR lens. When you see how your Challenge car handles on the track, you'll want to do more than just a day or two. Barry
No doubt! Are you using the stock Challenge suspension (2500# springs, etc.) ? My car has H&R springs to make it nicer on the street.
It still has the Challenge springs, 2200 front/900 rear, full roll cage and Challenge straight pipes. Like yours, much of the interior trim was put back in. There are two fan switches, a battery cut-off knob and a master ignition switch. I have the same R and 1st gear lock-out as yours... Image Unavailable, Please Login
There's no A/C but the heater core was reinstalled. The car has its original fire-supression system but the exterior button was removed leaving just the interior knob next to the ashtray. The windshield wipers were never removed. There's a quick-release steering wheel so I wired a reproduction Plymouth Roadrunner horn to one of the door lock switches on the console.
Mine has the heater core installed, no A/C, a horn accessed by the comm buttons on the steering wheel, fire suppression system in the trunk. Here are the interior pics as requested. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice interior! Can you control the fans separately? What are those two red buttons next to the START button?
The switch on the right controls the fans. I don't know what the two buttons do but will ask the previous owner. I'm sure he knows.
One of the early Challenge bulletins dealt with wiring modification and installation of two fan switches in the center stack. It was recommended that both fans be on at all times on track.
