Well, our fourth anniversary of I Cavalli Da Corsa was just completed, and I am still smiling when I see the pictures and reminisce about the fun we had at this wonderful event. It is always good to see old friends, and we always look forward to making new ones...something we have never failed to do at this event.

Our sponsors make this possible, so I would like to thank Nick Kincaid of Foreign Cars Italia (www.foreigncarsitalia.com), Austin Myer's X-Plane (www.x-plane.com), Daniel Pass at Ricambi (www.ricambiamerica.com), Karl Troy at European Road and Racing (www.europeanroadandracing.com), Chip McLeod, CFP from Merril Lynch, and especially CC Canada of CC Canada Forestry and Reality. Without his on the ground help, this would not have happened. A special thanks goes out to the Schriener family, for welcoming us to their lovely home, The Marion DuPont Scott Mansion, and to Jim Watts for sponsoring our music man.

I would like to thank those of you who have come to this event for the past four years, for without you being there, there would be no event. Please enjoy the pictures, and put this on your calender for November 2011! The Karting was an absolute blast, and we did this due to lack of interest in a full track event. That being said, if we have enough interest, we will go back to a full track event, so let me know....

First there was the Karting. I had absolutely no idea what this was about, that it was sooooo much fun, would pull so many gs, beat you up, make you sore, make you smile! These are only about 50 mph, but you go wide open into many of the turns. I was passed on the straight, and was concerned that the Karts where not equal, and then I realized they were not...I had a 50lb weight penalty! Karl Troy was amazing, he came through he field from the back, making it look effortlessly, smooth, not even breaking a sweat.

CC Canada gave it a go...CC raced at Sebring back in the day. I'll never forget him telling the story of tearing the door off one of the Rodriguez cars as it was a running start then. You raced to the cars, and CC was so fleet of food, the other driver did not have time to close the door before CC cam roaring by.

We met this giant of a man, a legend it turns out who wrestled in Hungarian. This was a very international crowd, with many people from Europe for the Steeplechase. Being a wrestling fan, Bob was in awe.

and then tragedy...the Jockey is recovering, but was in very serous condition with broken back, ribs, pelvis, shoulder, and was in a coma for a number of days. This is a very dangerous sport, not to be taken lightly. It seems there are a number of jockeys killed each year across the country from accidents like this one. One wonders why they are not wearing better protection, like in the old days of auto racing.

Race must have been fixed. Next time why not just invite Michael Jordan to play basketball with the Club.

Now on to the Marion duPont Scott Mansion. Mrs. DuPont Scott, was of course, a duPont, and was married at one time to Randolf Scott- the actor. Camden, for such a small town, has some amazing history, with Revolutionary, Civil War, and America's first families of industry and politics having homes here. This home as some of the largest Magnolia trees in the country. Check out the size of the one this young lady is standing by.
