Yesterday I saw this hott Viper RT/10 driving around with his Corvette friend, I was just going to grab a shot of them driving by so imagine my joy when I saw them turning onto a short street with only 3 buildings they could possibly park in front of! The owners were really nice.

Also saw this GORGEOUS turquoise Vette, I believe from 1959, can somebody confirm that for me?

    AHHH! The good ole days!

  3. It's a 59 or 60 Vette. I think those 2 years are the same.

Earlycat, you have a great list of cars in your profile!
Correct that it's a 59 or 60. 60 picked up a rear sway bar and concave dash lenses to cut glare, otherwise they are the same. It's hard to see the dash in your pics. Webby you sure get around with your camera. Thanks for sharing the shots.

O.K., if the turquiose one is original inside, it's a 60. I just sent you an e-mail of my 59's interior, I'll see if you can spot the other difference, which I did not think went ino effect until 61 or 2, that's why I say IF it's correct it a 60 by reason of different than mine.

(Sorry for turning this into CorvetteChat.com)

I also sent you a cool picture of a 59 Vette together with an 06 Lamborghini because it's a neat "culture clash" design study. Post it if you want.

The only differences I can see are that the 60 has a chrome gearshifter thing and buckles? Also the 60 has red and blue lines on the big Corvette logo on the right. I don't know if those have to do with the year or are just individual car differences though.
That is a cool picture! Rick's Gallardo really stands out among all those old cars. Actually I'm impressed that the Gallardo wasn't the People's choice car because you would naturally assume that they would choose the most expensive and newest one, but instead they value classic designs more. Is that a hardtop on your Vette? Thanks for the email

Yes the little colored bars in the dash insert on the pass side also identify this as a 60.
    The chrome shifter is aftermarket.

Next time I'll expect photos of undercarriges and engine bays, hate to think your slipping already.

BTW, I did a 30 minute report for my 8th grade english and speach class on the evolution of the Corvette and put the entire class (probably the teacher too) to sleep with these kind of hard hitting facts. Zora who???? I remember someone asking when they woke up.

Oh, yes it has both tops. The morning of the show I had the carb apart, distributor out, wheels and brake drums off, plugs out, clutch adjust in process, etc... and just ran out of time to remove the top and go convertible. The soft top is black.

haha, I'll do my best to get those kinds of pictures. I would have been listening in rapt attention to that report! And hey, if I see this Vette again or another like it and meet the owner I can identify which year it's from and everything and act like I know what I'm talking about. I'm sure they'd be surprised that someone as young as me could identify the year on such an old car!

in the 4th grade, I dressed up as Lee Iacoca and gave a report when everyone else was dressing up as Michael Jordan and celebrities. Surprisingly, no one knew who I was just from the grey hair and suit.. Always a car nut...
