Hi all, Finally some pics of my new to me 91 348TB 19k miles & came from another F-chatter via ebay. Have some more things coming for the interior to "personalize" it for me. Will post pics of interior after I add a few things next week. Again, some here cannot appreciate red/red however you cannot please all the people all of the time. Feel free to comment this is a brotherhood... Chris Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have been struggling with the red change on the a/c controller, peer pressure may of pushed me over the edge...I plan on spending the day home Friday maybe I will rip into the controller & make her red! Isnt there a link somewhere on how to do it? I think it was on your page correct? Chris
Great car.... and I love th surroundings too ! But hey... what's that antenna ??? Looks a bit Starship Enterprise to me Hope you have the same fun as I have with my 348.
LOL Its the only thing broke on the car, afraid to fix it since I believe it is customary to have at least one electrical item inoperative at all times on Italian cars... I am afraid if I correct it I may "upset" the natural order of Italian cars.
Very nice looking 348. Are the red seats standard issue? And is that a small cavallino badge on your ash tray cover?
I love the red on red, you dont see that very often. Gorgeous car. Also a very nice backdrop of the woods in the pics.
I saw a similiar car in the red/red combo a while ago, so this combination must have been somewhat popular, don't knock that red/red combo at all. The one that was for sale before had a shady past due to it's history and body damage that was being down played on it. This other car was in need of a big time service and the owner was claiming a $10,000 tubi exhaust, and some other funny things which he later deleted out of his ad. Glad to see you got a good, one, and not a car full of stories. It pays to look around, and not end up with a car having an undocumentable background. So many of these cars have little history, and can't explain were they have been the last ten years. Happy Motoring hey, I just found the post of the similiar car, check it out it is a funny thread. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104645
Nice car. I would leave the display green. Red / red is okay to me, very unique. I would not sweat the antenna, maybe just replace it with a smaller one. I am jealous of all the great shade you have in the yard. Have fun driving it! BT
It is obvious that the originator of this thread bought the car you are referencing, so why knock it and make it sound like he got a bad car? 'Shady past with body damage'???? A superficial bumper crack is not body damage to me. The buyer was obviously aware of that thread since he was the last person to post on it. I would not appreciate your post if I were the new buyer, and I still say it is a great car. The history says that it came from Ron Tonkin. I was under the impression that RTGT does not sell cars with problematic titles / miles, so I would not worry about it. These are fun driving cars, not multimillion dollar historic Ferraris. BT

Care to comment - current owner...?
The documentation that came with the car filled in the history. I also spoke by phone to the owner PRIOR to Ron Tonklin that did $12,000+ (documented) from FOD in 2002 (12K miles). I have prior records to that point also. Car runs & drives great. Cosmetically the pictures speak for themselves. As with I believe about any car you purchase "pre-owned" Be it Porsche, Ferrari or whatever I believe anyone who is picky or neurotic will find minor issues or faults. I also believe us as individuals will accessorize, concourse, restore etc..to our own individual preferences. Think of it this way, have any of us met the perfect woman with zero flaws>? I believe cars are similar in that manner. The car will be "perfect" for me when I complete what I think "perfect" is. If you took the time to research postings, you also noticed the lower black "dated" section of the car is gone. It has been all changed to Rossa Corsa. By the way I also noticed you are not a subscribed member? Do you need for me to give you $15 to subscribe for a year? If you value this forum its the least you could do to help offset the hosting costs to make sure it remains an up & running site. Thanks for the comments, Chris
I forgot to notice that the lower panels of the car had been painted. Glad you are enjoying the car, it looks alot like mine. BT Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bill, I think it is an honest mistake don't be so hard on 996 I don't think it was done to jab anyone. I looked at both threads and until you pointed it out, I myself didn't realize they were the same cars. The 348 changes so DRAMATICALLY with the lower panels painted, I would have never caught that unless I studied the interiors. You have to admit the original seller listed some goofy things in his Ebay ad like a $10,000 tubi and putting stabilant on all the connections got quite a few chuckles from everyone. No harm done, life needs to be light hearted and anyone that puts those kind of goofy statements out should have been expecting a come back like he got by that funny thread. Hey I still think the thing needs a service based on age, I remember reading recently on the 348's how this model only they went to a one belt drives everything deal, anyhow the post on fchat went on to say 348 belts are nothing to ignore. The guy that bought I hope gets the work done again, it is just a ticking time bomb like tmobile's engine that blew. Boy. I sure would like to know how much was spent painting everything and fixing that spoiler came out to be. Curious if they have to repaint whole rear bumper to get rid of black? My guess $2,000. Take care and I am still glad I passed on that car, I am not saying anything bad so don't take that the wrong way. I just wasn't willing to spend for paint then a big service, just me I guess. Hey, who is the "brother"? Did he sell it to his maternal brother or is he refering to a brother in a slang term? or is he refering to someone in "the brotherhood of 348's". Just wondering, cause It sounds a little slang?
I think the 'brother' is slang. I put a hard line on my post because I have seen a few posts by 996 that were kind of passive aggressive in my opinion. I am sure you will find the right car before too long. There seems to be a growing number of decent 348 available. If you are interested in a 348 spider my dad will be selling his shortly, and it is a no stories, fully serviced car. It is in Arizona. BT
