Here's a great hommage of Pierre on the Chapal website. Enjoy those extraordinary pictures (on the left in home page) and a video (right of the screen) of him driving his 500F2 s/n 208 and '64 GTO 5573GT at the Mas du Clos (probably in the seventies because of the Super 8 film format, and 5573GT was bought in 1971). I hope you'll apreciate it because it's a rare document... See the link below for the Chapal website : http://www.chapal.fr and the following video : http://www.chapal.fr/CHAPAL/PIERRE%20BARDINON/video.htm
Superb pictures. Thanks for posting. I'm sure the video is fabulous but I can't get it to play out. Keeps stopping about a third of the way through, if not before. It's a shame as I'd have loved to have seen 5573GT around Mas du Clos.
Encountered the same problem. Use the last link and just let the video load and then start playing. Gr. Martin
Thanks. Yes, I'd tried that and just tried it again using the link in the above post but still dropping out. Perhaps it's my lap top or Broadband that's the problem.
Try again... The GTO/64 is one of the most beautifull cars on earth. And the sound of the twelve cylinders on that racetrack is just crazy. I saw Pierre in his P4 in 1985. He was a very nice guy, talked to everybody. He had a life full of fun.
I managed to download it all. It took over an hour. You can tell by the horizontal download indicator on the bottom of the screen when the film is fully downoaded. It is a fantastic film. One of the best ever. I agree with you about the GTO/64. It's not only the most beautiful front engined car ever made but the best sounding too. Not only did he own 5573GT, as we know, Pierre Bardinon owned all the mid engined most beautiful cars ever in the world as well. Imagine having them and your own race track in the most beautiful surroundings. Yes, I'm sure he did have a life full of fun. I'm watching and listening to the wonderful music again now. Absolutely fabulous!!!
So as to never forget. Some souvenirs. + the enamelled badge of another Legendary Collection. I still miss the "Collection Mas du Clos" badge. (the 2 other badges are of the same dimension, but one id on a stand, closer to the camera) Image Unavailable, Please Login

Last I heard the neighbours weren't so happy with the noise so they had to basically shut down the track.
I know, but I remember reading that noise levels in France had to be kept very low in residential areas - even rural ones - which meant other people's neighbours were responsible for the track's closing. But I don't know this for sure.
