Thanks to Amazon's recommendation, I recently acquired a copy of Adam Cooper's book, "Piers Courage, Last of The Gentleman Racers". Not only is it a terrific biography, but also a wonderful window onto another era of British and European road racing in the 60s and very early 70s. The large-format book is lavishly illustrated with many previously unpublished photographs.

These days, many people don't remember Courage. He was heir to one of Britain's largest breweries, but really made it on his own into professional racing. He was Frank Williams' very first F1 driver, but tragically fell victim to the terrible danger of racing in those days.

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in that era of racing. A definite "must have".
