From an earlier thread I found out about DTM Power who are selling engine and chassis upgrade for the 355. I asked them for more info and found out that they have a piggy-back solution for the 355 that would make it possible to tune the engine and keeping interfaces with alarm and F1 gear shift etc…

Does anyone have any experience of DTM Power or any other piggy-back system for the 355 F1?

I know there have been discussions about remapping the Motronic 5.2 but as far as I can tell without any success, wouldn’t this be the answer to that problem?

Installation and mapping done in the UK would be £1800 so it isn’t that cheap but might be worth it…

Not familiar with that particular system but you could pretty much piggyback any aftermarket engine management to the F355.

Problem is if you have a 5.2 car and live in an area that requires emissions testing you aren't going to be passing a plug in obd2 test with a piggyback ecu. (unless you have access to changing the way the codes function in the stock ecu but at that point you wouldn't need a piggyback).

2 options from DTM.. Its essentially a motec system..
One that is spliced into the 355 harness and the other a full rewire..
The splice just takes over ignition + timing but retains the original ecu for f1 alarms etc.

DTM are interesting though.. You can get them to build an engine but you can pretty much put any Aftermarket ECU onto the 355.. You can even turn it into a 2.7 motronic with dual AFM,s

Better than toda who offered to do me an engine for wait for it $95k AUS and they even offered to deliver it free from japan to me!!!

Still id love to hear from anyone with any real world experience of dtm someone must have one of their creations in their car?
