Alas, there's no coverage here in the UK. Does anyone know where there's any footage on the web?

AFAIK, there isn't any coverage here in the US, either. I really wish they would, I love Pikes Peak races!

I've done Pikes Peak Hill Climb twice. Nothing else compares. Also, did as part of a rally and got to race the road from the tollbooth to the start line. Some scary stuff down there also.

There is usually a recap played on my local (colorado springs) channel a few weeks after. The channel is called Altitude. Not sure if you can get it on their site but I know they were filming this year so there should be a recap soon.

This years race was great, no 10 breaking and I was a little surprised to tell the truth. With only 5 miles of pavement left on the course I thought it would be fast enough. Hopefully the dirt stays around for a few years at least, and I hope Gronholm comes back.

Rallycodriver you are a very lucky man to be able to race up pikes peak. Ive lived in the Springs my whole life and have been to sooo many hillclimbs and it really is a dream of mine.

My take is yes, more road surface being paved allows better traction but, they were also installing guardrails and drainage which narrows the raceline.

    Do it!

Yes, and sorry for mixing up, i obviously meant to say only 5 miles of dirt left. I didnt think about the guardrails, that definitely could slow things down because there are quite a few corners where I know it would be logical to cut or stay in.
