Pimping da Van !!!

Ever wonder if you could actually Drag Race a Mini van?? Have you ever thought to yourself of turboing a Van and hitting mid 12's on a quarter mile??
Well this guy has made that dream come true... http://www.turbovan.net. Here is a video of him running against a LS1 Camaro at the drag strip.. http://www.turbovan.net/pauls_van.mpg. You can even hear the kid in the background yelling "GO DAD".
I even saw a 92 Astro Van with a LS1 in it with a Turbo not too long ago at a Dyno meet in NC. The torque curve on that thing was unreal plus it was an Automatic.

I can see a Father making out a TO DO list for the day:

7am - Take the kids to school
12 noon - Cruise to Sonic in the Wood grain Van
3pm - Pick up the kids and while im at it race a Corvette on my way back home. You know the usual !!

How could you explain to your friends that you where at a Red light and a Mini van kicked your azz?? Even worse if he had the kids in the van with his wife.

Here is a pic of an old VW Bus Van that looks normal but has a Twin Turbo Chevy Small block in the back and is making 1105hp and putting down 1300 for torque. Impressive but WHY ??? I guess its up to the person's point of view on what they think is something never attempted before and also building the next best thing that is a "sleeper".

I don't like Drag Racing either. I have considered about buying this old 90 Dodge Caravan 2.5 Turbo Van from an old guy in the Greensboro NC area for $500 bucks. The Van is in fair condition but the story is he can no longer drive it and is selling it pretty much to get rid of it.
I guess ear plugs wouldn't do much in that sort of cabin of the VW.
