Cool show, but I'm sick of seeing these dumbasses accuse each other of sand bagging. They race at the drag strip. If they would use the clock to show the ET's, that would easily prove or disprove that. Also, why the hell do they use "lengths" to handicap? Why don't they just use the tree "bracket race" style instead of that jackass dropping his arms?

Now that I think about it, this show sucks....nevermind.

Could have been a cool show, but that 'start race, cut to commercial' stinks bigtime.

Also a crackup, declare a win by 2 lengths, yet the replay is more like 4-5. Then start negotiating based on the '2'.

I might keep watching just in case an out of control car takes out the host.

You have never been STREET racing, this form of racing involes lengths. Run wathcha brung and hope the other guy doesnt find it. Spent many years street racing on V street in DC. It is a totally different world compared to real bracket racing. And nothing like Fast and Furious crap.... Pinks is very accurate to what REAL street racing is about...

Sorry but the show $ucks. The original tv ad's had shown some high dollar muscle cars, needless to say you see mostly crap on the show.

The bit about lengths....etc is bull also............ bottle, no-bottle...more bs............. When "we were kids", you show up, and it was car against car, heads up. 1970 RAIII GTO vs 1969 Chevelle (now was it a 396 or a 427 under the hood), 71 LT1 Camaro vs 69 302 Z28, LS6 Chevelle vs a rocket ship........etc....... thats it. No looking under the hood......... if you said your car was faster than mine, line em up, lets prove it.

My buddy Brian was on the show--he owns ELD performance in Crofton, Md. An episode where his 90 Mustang raced a older Chevrolet. Mustang won. That car is no piece of crap. I have seen that car with my own eyes run a 10.20 on motor with a 10" slick. Nothing fancy really and very streetable...

i don't think so, i think it's a "pink slips" reference - which, to me, doesn't make any sense... i also heard this "pink slips" reference during a video game commercial about street racing...

A pink slip is what you get when you're fired... Racing for "slips" is racing for the title to your car - unless that title is pink, someone fangled a really stupid term... Any input...?

Pink slip == title. Apparently they used to pink in CA way back when, the name stuck

And yes, street racing uses lengths, and sandbagging, and negotiation ... not that I've done that in a long long time.

I was watching the marathon last night, the guy with the Nova shouldn't have made that decision.

I know its based on street racing but I would rather see them using the christmas tree. Stagger the lights, use the timing gear and get a real response. The win by car lengths is sometimes grossly off.

I've only seen a few episodes, but I like the concept, regardless of the actualy machines doing the racing.

As Tillman mentioned, the sandbagging and negotiations is the real name of the game, not the vehicles. The vehicles, are just vehicles.

    Which car?

the Olds was a 442, really nice musclecar. The Nova was a real hotrod.

I'm just saying that if my opponent's car can't get off the line, I take it anyway. I don't give the guy the chance to fix his car. The name of the game is to win.

Yes --many states back in the day had titles printed on pink paper to distinguish it from other papers--reg.cards, etc....
