after a drive in my carb 308 there is always a small puddle (1-2 inch) of oil under the distributor side of engine. I don't have a hoist (yet) so the best I can do is put it on jack stands and poke my head underneath...can't really see enough. I'd appreciate any input regarding common sites of leaks before I tackle this during the winter months. thanks, Ken

The first thing to do is determine whether its engine or gear oil. Gear oil (especially synthetic) has a distinctive smell and would be relatively clear.
