Piquet is damaged goods and will never get any sponsorship money. So there is no road back for him. What brand would want to be associated with him?

I am not sure I would be able to watch F1 if he was involved.

I think he has been banned for life, he just does not know it.

Piquet is a lousy driver and a total rat. Nobody will hire him again for anything.

Justice is a big idea, so I rather stick to dollars. :)

Piquet can't drive and is disloyal and tarnished goods. Who wants to sponsor such a useless idiot? It'd be a total waste of $$$.

Only if his rich papa buys him a seat could I see him again in a F1 car, but that $$$ will dry up eventually.

In this sport true enough but it is the source of much our dismay isn't it?
Without at least a nod to the justice and fair play needed to balance the commerce we'll just see new iterations of the same old Cr*p.

Don't give this idiot (Piquet Jr) more power than he has. Mad Max used him merely as a pawn in his chess to get rid of another FOTA head. Now that he is done with Flabbio, Piquet has no more value whatsoever and will disappear into the history of F1's loosers.

+1000 the total opposite of Nico Rosberg. Piquet really should be banned for life from F1 first for crashing and second for being a Rat!

Piquet Jr. should have never been given a super license. Nor BADoer btw.

What puzzles me the most is that his father is such a dork: Doesn't he realize that his son is clueless? Every other father of a F1 prodigy has realized when his son was crap and pulled the plug (except Andretti). No Lauda, no Sheckter ever made it into F1.

Time for Piquet Sr. to face reality and save some of the family fortune.

Some guys should take it easy on the family money comments, they're kind of pointless and don't really add value to your post at all.

Anyways, if Piquet is considered a rat then what's Alonso?

I've said it before and I will say it again, what Alonso did in 2007 was TOTALLY RIDICULOUS on so many levels. First you know that your team is cheating and you as a driver are benefiting from it throughout the season. Second you black mail your team boss to be number 1 because you can't beat your rookie teammate. Third, you pretty much get immunity from MM and thus your entire team including teammate have to face the WMSC.

With the least amount of logical, anyone would realize that this is worse than crashing in 1 GP. Alonso having been involved in now 2 incidents in 2 years is the biggest Mother f.er cause he has been benefiting from it at the expense of other people and still he still has a driver, its insane World Champion or not.

    Why is that?

Piquet Jr. is a unique case in the sense that he has no talent and the only reason he is in F1 is his father's name and cash. As I said before: Other F1 fathers had the good sense to call a spade a spade and pull their sons out of it.

PS: I have no problems with him crashing out in Singapore, but then ratting out the team and Flavio is just horrible.

Because its pathetic and there is no reason for it, why do you keep referring to his family fortune? You don't make 1 reference but many references in many different posts. Don't worry he won't become poor anytime soon and plus you're not his private banker.

He's the only case? What about the Nakajima?

If I was Keke I would smack Nico for the penalty he got today. I really don't like that guy, I spoke to him several times outside of an F1 event and he is SO arrogant for no damn reason.

Once again Alonso did 10 times worse so he is 10 times the rat.

Piquet ratted out the team cause he got fired, kind of normal to be bitter, don't you agree?

Alonso ratted out the team cause he couldn't beat Hammy, that's pretty *****.

After typing out this a few times I don't know if I want Alonso anymore.

Actually, I have to respectfully disagree with that... I'm sure that's not the only reason he's in F1. The guy actually had a pretty good track record in British Formula Three and GP2 before he entered F1 and you've got to be pretty darn good in order to get a Superlicense.

I certainly think his father's name (and perhaps financial support, I don't know) was a major factor in him getting signed for a bigger team like Renault rather than one like Force India or Toro Rosso, but I don't believe that would have been enough on its own to get a sub-standard driver into F1 in the first place.

It seems just that he now doesn't have a drive given his critical role in the race fixing, but I can sympathise with his position up to that point: it can't be easy when your manager is the boss (conflict of interests anyone?) and the team is giving you no public support. Internally, of course they should be giving him the hurry up, but to allow rumours of losing his drive to persist and having journalists constantly asking him about that before races... not a great frame of mind to be in.

He wasn't a great F1 driver, but I don't think him completely talentless. He was mediocre as an F1 driver, and I think he very much wound up with the wrong team. He might have actually had a better introduction to the grid and a more prolonged F1 career if he'd started with someone like Toro Rosso or Force India. Arguably, his father's name (and financial support?) therefore did not do him a favour by plonking him in a Renault.

But whatever might have been, any team would be crazy to hire him now.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Oh no, no no....Alonso is the victim. Just ask him ;)

IMO...the reason why FA is worse than PK or MS is due to the motivation. PK's and MS's ordeals are understandable...not condoning what they did but understandable. However, FA is in a league of his own and is downright scary!

He was always racing for his own team. This is a huge advantage. In F3 he hand picked personnel away from other teams. In GP2 he spent the winter testing repeatedly in Brazil to get up to speed.

+1...That's why I'm not exactly jumping for joy that he's coming over to Ferrari. Those are some serious integrity/character issues. He's a primadonna and will do whatever it takes to have his way (not just to win). He's undoubtedly a talented driver, but I'm not wild about the baggage that comes with him. How long before he tries to submarine Massa if Felipe returns to the team at full-speed? I don't think Domenicali has the huevos to deal with the situation.

    Buckle your seatsbelts....
