Looks like a new version of the Corsa tire on the 430 Scuderia. It appears the service rating is (91Y) if I read the tire correctly. The Stradale tires are an (84Y) rating. So........ Hopefully that means that Pirelli is up and running on their Corsa line. Stradale owners have been without new tires for a very long time. All the ones I've seen on Stradale's are dated 2004. The 91Y rating is a higher weight rating. approx 1300 lbs instead to 1100lbs for a 84Y tire. Maybe too much information but I need tires for a Stradale. And of course Ferrari will need tires for Scuderia production. Wow that car looks great.

The new Pirelli Corsa rear tires are available at Tire Rack, 285/35-19 for the Stradale. The fronts are not in yet but I assume they are coming. I ordered a set of rears. They too have the higher load rating. (101Y). This tire will probably be slightly stiffer but may be a faster tire if the compounding is updated.

Is this tire somehow different than the one that has been available for the last 2 years?

where? rears are easy to find, fronts are nigh impossible. If you have a source, many owners here would love to hear about it....

The corsa rear size tires for the stradale that have been relatively availabe for the past couple years were all manufactured way back in 2003 or 2004. The new rear corsa tires that joe (ducati) is talking about were manufactured early in 2007. So they are newer than the previously availabe corsas AND they are a slightly higher load rated tire. They are also significantly more expensive than the older corsa tires :( but i'm glad to get them even at the higher price. Now i hope they start making new front tires.

If you order these tires you better insist on the tires mde in 2007 otherwise you can bet you'll get the older ones!

Just back in. The new tires are a higher load rating distiquished by the number inside the parenthsis are the load rating code. The new 101Y rating is on the latest rear tires. The new front tire as seen on the 430 Scuderia is rated at 91Y. The fronts are not available yet and the tire rack has a limited supply of the new rear. Date code per the TireRack on their stock of the new tires is 1307 13th week of 2007. These are fresh off the grill so to speak. The old tires are certainly harder by now. Ozone etc. dries out the rubber. When racing we always wanted the freshest tires.
