Anyone tried these yet? Might be a useful alternative to Hoosier etc. Edit - Woodman hasn't had them yet, is inquiring about availability.
I don't know anything about the Trofeos... however the DP/GT class of Grand American uses Pirelli PZero tires... but I don't know if they are special GA compound tires. From what I've heard, the tires have been well received by the Rolex teams/drivers. As far as Pirelli vs. Hoosiers, I don't think there was a big difference, if any...
The Trofeo is a DOT race tire. And, wow, the press release says the tire will give me the "ability to win." Finally. -P Zero Trofeo Trofeo is a DOT street legal race tire that gives enthusiasts a wider contact patch; greater rigidity and stability during acceleration and braking, as well as the peace of mind of having a constant and consistent footprint area at high speeds. Trofeo is manufactured using state-of-the-art innovations in technology and materials that give racers the ability win on-track and drive on-road.-
"Is the new Trofeo replacment to the Corsa or Corsa system?" No, not to my knowledge. The new Trofeo is really a race tire, designed for race classes that require tires that are technically legal for street use but are very soft and usually have minimal tread.
No way these tires will keep up with the V710, or Hoosier A6/R6. More of an alternative to MPSC and R888, and most likely faster than Corsa System.
