Sounds like they'll run out of Lussos after hearing that so many American Pista buyers are being required to buy Lussos. Also strange because I was told there will be no 2019 V12 GTC4 Lussos for the US and production will end in June. I guess the Lusso T's are what are going to be pushed. I love my GTC4 Lusso and drive it daily, if you buy one you won't be disappointed, its a great car.

From past history Ferrari will still build old model series V8 cars for a short time after the build starts for the series replacement.
In this case I wonder if the 2020 Pista exhaust spec will change due to new and more strict EU noise standards for 2020 cars? 2019 models may sound better...

I have been told that all Pistas have to be delivered by June 30th 2020 for that reason...but I don’t want to sound too affirmative...This car is the source of many speculation (intellectually at least)

I see a lot of people making the comparison to the F40 but imo aside from the turbo there is none with the 488 Pista.

I expect it to sit at a 100k premium (adjusting for inflation) for the foreseeable future

Meaning that the Pista will have a base price of $100,000 US over a 488 GTB?

In the secondary market I presume? That would put the price somewhere in the neighborhood of 1/2 million $ US. But if one is fortunate enough to get an allocation, then MSRP of about $400,000?

UK price is allegedly GTB plus 28 % which I think equates to about an extra USD 70 000 on US GTB sticker

Nobody pay more. Its not a limited car. Perhaps some disloyal Ferrari customer want to make profit. But nobody will pay the extra charge. Same with Porsche 911 GT3 or 911 GT3 RS. Many try to get more. But the most sell below price sticker behind closed doors.

There is some pages on instagram that list new/used hyper car/super cars for sale and list things like MSRP +50K euro, etc. They are legit listings.

So, you're saying that USA dealers will add $100,000.00 above the MSRP on the window sticker?

    no.

i'm referring to the natural market price but if slots are selling for just 50k over premium already then i'm evidently wrong

re: gt3's etc - that's complete nonsense that they didn't sell for overs, I know for a fact that some 991 RS cars were sold for £80k overs but this was a few years ago when the hype was in full swing - the buyers lost lots of cash on them.

There's too many burnt figures from the past hence the amount of premiums are gonna shrink
Plus some of the would be premium payers are getting their cars through buying Lusso's

This morning I told my dealer that I will not buy a Lusso first in order to get the Pista and it's up to them to consider if they want to keep me as a client. I've been very loyal to them, on my 12th Ferrari from them and have also traded all my cars back to them, never flipped a car for profit even though I always get early builds. They clearly could tell I wasn't happy so they called back in the afternoon to tell me that they're pushing hard to get me an allocation and never mentioned Lusso again.

Nonsense ! Porsche GT3 and GT3RS are definitely selling for over msrp if you didn’t receive an allocation and want one. I know, I bought one !

With taking a loss on twelve Ferraris they should do right by you. Heck, you've already lost enough to more than pay for an entire Pista. Shame how this is turning out on this car. There is no honor in overpaying and the flippers win again. Nothing has changed but that was expected. :(

"Pushing hard to get me an allocation" means you have your allocation already, they were just trying to run a fast one by you... Congrats and you'll get the "call" in a few months from now for them to pretend like they "pushed" for you. Dealer employees don't make that much money, simple capitalism how they try to work you.

Many of the folks you may have worked with throughout the years have likely left, so it's always the "what have you done for me lately" scenario.

Correct me if im wrong this is not a limited run ? Do you believe customers will be more than supply ? So if you don't make first round orders can you just wait in line ? So it takes a couple of years. But then again the new 488 will be out 2020 and by history it will incorporate some PISTA ideas and should be faster. Am I missing something ?

Offer and demand will play in whatever direction.
The 488 successor will be faster than the Pista (and less expensive) but the Pista with its limited supply (however not to a strict number) may stay more looked after, specially if it becomes the last non-hybrid.
A 488 is easily faster than a Speciale, which is also not limited - however a Speciale still sells for at least its initial MSRP, while a used 488 is just considered a used car.

Agree with LVP488, all the speculation is fine, but the real (initial) secondary market will be determined when the first "used" Pista is resold. I would bet there are members in this very thread that would pay $100K over msrp right now to get the car.....but of course that's speculation as well.

Don't forget to add the $100k loss on the Lusso to your all in number.
