Pista Engine Oil

My 458 is past the 7 year service program. I called Pennzoil and they told me to use the platinum racing oil 550051259 5w40. I ordered it online from evo supply.

 

I had total oil never heard of it before

 

At the suggestion of the grand master himself Il Co Pilota, I have been running Royal Purple exclusively for the past year and it’s been great.

 

Where did Il Co Pilota go? Haven’t seen him here in a while

 

I recall a few months back he was having a verbal stouch with someone regarding the cars he owned / didnt own.

 

Humm..oh…I missed all that then… so a fake.

 

Dont know ? But since then haven't seen him here.

 

To EVERYONE thinking the 7y free servicing is worth anything ...
Last year I bought a 2018 488 Spider, with 2.5y warranty and 3y maintenance, bought from a dealer in London ... had it serviced in February this year , or I should say , I thought I had ... last week I went to an independent Ferrari specialist for an out of schedule oil change as I had done 2 track days recently, the oil that came out was completely black(tar) , smelled burnt and was at least 2-3y old if not older .
So long story short - forget main dealers , they're not worth your time and do oil changes somewhere you can physically see it's being done , otherwise save your time and effort.

? If its a 2018 car the free service expires next year. Hence, I don't know how you have still 3 year maintenance ?

Also 2,5 year warranty ? thats an unusual number ? I dare say given its a 2018 the most you could get is 1 year power warranty.

How do you have 2.5 years ?

Think that’s a problem with your specific dealer. If you’re here to warn everyone, please post the name of the dealer? Making a general accusation does not help as there are more than plenty great dealers out there.

Nope. However I do service my cars at the dealer.

 

My dealer, Tampa Ferrari does oil changes, I have seen them doing it and trust they do it.
