Hi all, My pista has the chrome/silver exhaust tips and I would ideally like to have them black instead. Is there any option other than removing the pipes and having them powder coated black? Thank you
You think so? I thought the silver exhaust tips were an option on the pista, especially considering my car originally had the silver rims. Here’s a pic of the exhaust tip Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep yours are chrome plated. The OEM stock tip for the Pista is a dull matt finish titanium. Someone has short sheeted your bed. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Would it have been on the build sheet if it were optioned chrome? As shadofax mentioned they normally come dull matte finish standard. I optioned for the black matte
I don't believe chrome was ever an option. You could get the black ones though. The chrome do look rather glitzy on a Pista so I can't imagine them being offered on a Pista. Pretty sure they weren't.
Oof that's disappointing. Wonder why someone would switch it to chrome when there's no chrome on this car. Now I'm wondering if the dealership I bought it from did it to put the matte ones on a 488 they had in inventory. Would these fit on the pista? https://store.millermotorcars.com/products/ferrari-genuine-488gtb-black-exhaust-tailpipe-tips
That’s a sketchy dealer. Just go to them and ask if they know why it has chrome tips - maybe they will just order you a set of what should belong on the car.
Lol after my experience with purchasing this car from them, they don't strike me as a dealer that would offer to order me a set. But it's worth a shot I'll give them a call tomorrow.
Just near the tip edges which I touched up. It appears if one uses harsh cleaners it impacts the constitution of the factory application. I just clean with a damp cloth now.
So I contacted the dealer, and he said that the chrome tips are what came with pistas if no option was chosen for the tips. Who knows.
The standard tips for the Pista were polished stainless. The option tips were titanium or black ceramic coated.
That's right. Here's the ordering guide to clear things up. Nobody swapped 488 GTB tips onto @S.R's Pista! You're scaring the guy with your wild speculations, guys! Stop it! Image Unavailable, Please Login
That price is from the original build sheet. If you purchase from the dealer they list for $2627 plus getting them installed. The titanium ones are $3700!
Chrome standard, Ti were $2600 or so. Parts are always more expensive afterwords. Especially on recent models.
