So during an alignment today we noticed that the lower rear right control arm seemed degraded where it is secured to the chassis stud. You can see where the hole that secures to the stud has eroded at the bottom.

I took the securing nut off to get a closer look, the nut itself was very secure and not missing.

The alignment had not changed on the camber or toe from previous alignment check.

We ordered a new lower control arm for the pista.

Has anyone experienced something similar? I track quite often and was planning a track day this week but now I’m having second thoughts.

    Thoughts and opinions welcome!

I’ll take a WAG that it’s a manufacturing defect. I absolutely would not drive the car until the control arm has been replaced.

Hole looks too good to be caused by corrosion (IMO). My WAG would be that there is supposed to be a bushing in there that was never installed. Did you look at the other side? It should tell you if the hole has enlarged on this side or if something is missing.

U sure there isn’t some sort of eccentric sleeve that goes in there?
