Circa 4000 lbs.
Brooks conducts all his tests on this track and he is the constant driver. Those 765 times are beyond impressive. There are a monumental achievement.
Not true. The front electric motors stop pushing above 210 kph, but the overall power remains the same (1000 CV) as the battery feeds the rear motor instead. It is a very clever system.
The 765LT with a relatively simple tune of the ECU and IPE downpipes just ran an 8.916 1/4 mile @ 157.85 mph. The GT2 RS with same tune ran it in 10.1 seconds. If weather conditions were better, claim was 8.8 is within reach.
That 765 also ran a 4.16 60-130 and 4.18 100-150 on that run, at 900whp. For the sake of comparison, my TT Huracan (stock motor, stock trans, aftermarket clutches) runs 3.9 60-130 (spinning) and 3.7 100-150 on the street on PS4S. Of course, if I was on a sticky dragstrip, I'm sure my 60-130 time would drop a couple of 10ths, but still, that 765 is just incredible. It's right there with my car and I'm making 1200whp!
On 2013 tyres and most importantly on unprepared tarmac. The difference between a normal road/track and a dragstrip with its special glue is substantial, as shown by the numbers that Brooks achieved with his 765 on a dragstrip and on the road.
La Ferrari - 0-200kph- 6.8 seconds 765- 5.54 seconds. The track and tires will not come close to making up for those times.
The dragstrip alone (okay, perhaps the temperature also, but we don't know that for certain) amounted to about half a second. Factor in the newer tyres and that may be easily around 1'' overall. Brooks's 765 achieved an amazing 9.94'' on the road, which is about 0.6'' slower than what it achieved on the dragstrip. That 9.7'' LF time was not on a strip, it was on Fiorano's straight on 2013 Pirellis. My point is that one cannot compare between times on a dragstrip and a regular road or track.
The 765 easily surpassed the La Ferrari times on Pirella P Zero ( La Ferrari came equiped with P ZERO Corsa) on the street.
The point of this, is to highlight the remarkable achievement wrought by the 765, especially for a production super car not a hyper car.
I don’t know why you’re getting all wound up and trying to defend the la Ferrari in this situation. Not a single person here is saying that they would take a 765 over the la Ferrari. I would take a laferrari any day of the week and twice on Sundays. However what we are commenting on is the amazing performance of the Mclaren with today’s technology and it has achieved hyper car levels. No one is discounting the la ferrari so you can take your protective gear off as there’s no need to defend one of the most brilliant cars ever.
Nope, 9.9+. Also, I am not would up at all. I just thought that we shouldn't compare apples and oranges. I hope I didn't come across as crass or argumentative.
You are right about that, but that's still a 765 on the road, isn't it? That's what a 765 did with him driving on the road.
He was driving someone else’s car. This was his first time driving a 765. As he got to know the car better his times improved. Regardless, this is such a lame argument. I mean any way you put it, the 765 kicks the ass of any ferrari on the road. Period. But that only matters if you make money off drag racing. I don’t. I don’t have a horse in this game as I own both brands. I’m simply calling it as it is. Performance wise, there isn’t a Ferrari that can keep up with a Mclaren. But a Ferrari has its own charm and its own advantages.
