    Hi there,

Finally pulled the trigger on a Pista - but I live out in the UK where the majority of the time it's cold, wet, rainy and crap. Given that, I was going to buy a set of Cup 2s for when I take the car out to Spain and do some hard driving in hot temperatures - but for normal use pootering about, I was wondering if I should make the switch onto one of two tires.

    1) 296GTB PS4S K1 - these will fit per spec on the fronts, but on the rears iirc the Pista is a 305/30, and these tires are a 305/35. Much different? Doesn't seem it - just seems there'll be a bit more sidewall. No experience though, and a bit of a tyre noob, so not sure of the ramifications.

    2) PS4S N0 - perfect fit available, but not Ferrari spec tires.

    Any opinions here? Many thanks!

EDIT: Also, the car has done 2500mi on it's original Cup 2s, they're probably 3 years old now. Worth just tearing those up before switching it - or should I just go ahead and grab some new Cup 2s while I'm off tire shopping?

Thanks guys! Yes, PS4S for sure - just wondering if N0 fitment or K1 fitment (with a small compromise on the sidewall aspect!) being 305/35 instead of 305/30.

305/35 should work but with lower profile….maybe a bit harsher ride. I am going with PS4s when I change.

There is a large difference between 305/30 and 305/35 in terms of ultimate diameter. Go with the Porsche fitment.

You may have esc issues with the k1 spec tires.

I just did my first change of Tires on my Pista since ordering it from the factory. 3333 miles and 4 years old. Went with the original spec Sport 2 Cup tires ...still love them.

The PS4S also exists in "generic" (no marking) form in the correct dimensions for the Pista (245/35 -20 front and 305/30-20 rear); although there is no K marking for those I think some F8 have been delivered with them (maybe specially in France). 488, Pista and F8 have exactly the same wheels dimensions, and the same tyre sizes.

If you have to choose between correct size, or incorrect size and correct marking, go correct size

If you increase rear height to have to replicate in front axle, otherwise E-Diff can get nuts and leave you stuck on limp mode.

Basically ECU has a standard front/rear circle length ratio and you have to stick to it.

Agree - spoke to my dealer today to finalise my delivery date and buy a set of OEM rims for the car (comes with carbons - not good for regular use on our ****e roads here) - we agree that the N0 is the right choice with the correct size. They have been ordered and will go on the new rims when they arrive!

Thanks all for the help and insight :)

You’ll need to keep the overall diameter the same… the 35 rear ratio is a larger overal diameter. This will mess with traction control. For your oem size 20” wheels you must use the stock oem tire size.
