Did anyone do a count? I'd be surprised if there were all that many out of the overall member count on Fchat. It would be interesting to see if a Poll thread would show using an informal vote.
How about we just don’t talk about him anymore. He is very active all of a sudden on mclaren life. Head over there if you miss him. Otherwise can we move on. Please.
Back on topic, I drove my pista the other day and I cannot get over the warp speed acceleration, the great sound and balanced handling. Whether they are trading up, down or sidewise, if you want one, buy one. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with the car. So fun. This isn’t a comment on value but more on enjoyment, I think in an few years when V8s are no more and we have super heavy and very powerful V6 hybrids, the current crop of V8s will be highly regarded. I think this is a high point of car design and construction before we take the ominous one way journey to hybrid/electric. This engine is a masterpiece. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually my pista spider is being delivered on Sunday! I think every detail of the car is great, love the styling and I have a great affection for the 488 model having raced a whole season (and 2 races this season) in the AMAZING Ferrari Challenge (now upgraded to EVO spec). Ultimately it’s about the driving experience and the car is just phenomenal and handling is so great. I can’t wait for Monticello to open to do some laps with the car sideways!
Absolutely. But many had fun out of the exercise so it wasn't all down hill. Anyway Mac owns him now so.....and he always did have a liking for the Macs over the F cars. I guess I was hoping for a bit more fireworks on the exit and all we got was candle. Although that westcoasta dude sure went out with all guns blazing ....so kinda helps to make up for the mundane passing of noone.
I cannot agree more! The Pista is an amazing peace of engineering derived from racing + such a beautiful design. I have owned several Porsche GT3s / GT3RS / GT4, an AMG GTR, a Lotus Exige Cup 430 and I track all my cars regularly. The Pista is simply my favourite and not only due to its superior power: The chassis/handling is truly exceptional.
Update on Pistas on the second-hand market in Germany (I make a quick check on every first day of the month): > 31 cars offered vs. 40 one month ago (COVID-19 effect with car dealers closed over nearly the whole month of April here?) > no change of prices, lowest price offered is still at 341K€ for a grey car without stripes (does not seem to get high interest) > second cheapest car is at 350K€ and has 7,000 km on the clock (Pista base price w/o options in Germany = 287K€ / list price of my Pista with options = 333K€) Conclusion: So far, no price fall and less cars offered on the second European market
mobile.de is still showing 40 cars in Germany if I'm not mistaken - interestingly, it seems prices as new were lower in Germany than in France (base 317K€, including mandatory carbon package - with the stripe and very limited options, it was virtually impossible to get a build for less than 340K€ in France) so second hand prices in Germany may get some support from exporting.
