Too darn big, IMO, for a walkin' around piece.

There are people on the gun boards that like them. I think it would be good to keep in the boat or take camping or something.

There is a certain distributer or sporting goods chain that gets them made for them in longer barrel lengths. I can't remember who but a guy was showing his off on one of the boards.

I wanted it to be a carry gun, but like mentioned above, a 9.5" overall length (+holster overlap) cures THAT real fast (shoulda caught that...)

Probably just in vehicle or for the wife to use at the house. She can't shoot the .45 Warthog and the house shotgun is too big for her to maneuver.

I never understood how they could legally sell a gun that chambers a shot shell with a barrel less than 18 inches.

I think you are describing a "gray area" in law enforcement.

Depending on local laws it might be legal to buy but big trouble to be in possession of.

Already have this, but it's a monster for the small wife hands. For me, fun as hell, but you have to be a die hard 1911er to shoot it. Excellent conceal auto. http://www.parahawg.com/pistols.html#WHX1045R

Kahr .40 was choice #2 for large-bore carry, but for the price I went with the Para. The wife fit well and liked the 9mm Kahr, though...

Great video, but did anyone else get a backyard production vibe from it?

Looks like a good snake gun. But I prefer a 1911......or should I say one of the 11 or 12 I've got in my safe.

I wonder if the .410 is exempt from the barrel length consideration, especially if it is in a pistol.

How does the Wharthog handle? I looked at one a couple of weeks ago and felt like it would have a bit of "bite" to it since the back of the magazine ended in the middle of my hand. I liked the lip on the front end of the magazine, but the back made me wonder how fun it would be to shoot.

The warthog is surprisingly comfortable for how small it is. You HAVE to get the mag extension for your pinky, but once you do it shoots very well and has easily controllable recoil. Dramatic flame and noise, but this is to be expected. I also have a Hogue grip on it (course I do that to ALL of my pistols...)

The only problem I have had is that while breaking in, it HATES ball ammo. It feeds perfectly with the shorter Winchester flat-nosed and hollow-point rounds, but had a lot of feed problems with full-length and reload cartridges. Glasers and all defensive rounds cycle through perfectly so what you're gonna be walking around with gives 100% confidence.

The Kahr is nice and a good second choice...first choice is the HK P7M8, it was designed for point and shoot self defense.

The P7 is the 'squeeze-cock' isn't it? (why did I have trouble writing that..?)

If so, that is an excellent carry--slender, compact, lightweight, potent, no protrusions to snag on clothing, ideal weapon.

Thunder Five. 45 Long Colt or 410 shot shell. Perfectly legal. You can buy over the counter. I won this at a Ducks Unlimted dinner. It's kind of a handful.

That is her...the German model is even more slender since the mag release is moved to the butt of the gun.
