    Hi Guys! Just had the guides done on the 355 and i thought i might check the piston to valve clearance. Have not seen this measurement anywhere.. I have a crushed head gasket and the old nuts. Love to hear from experenced 355 engine builders on this one. Cheers!

    Just like any multi-valve engine. It has a lot of clearance.


    Small valves at small angles with not very radical timing just like all multi-valve motors.

    I Figured since i have no idea what the clearance might be id better check it? When the heads are serviced they surface grind them,although only took about 5thousands of an inch off. What do you guys think of k-line guides? Just a question that was all. Thanks again everyone!

    The space is very big. It has never been an issue and .005 is so far less that the service limit it is a waste of time.

    Time far better spent on things that matter.

    Ok... Now how about if after that .005 was taken off we are now on or maybe a thou or 2 under the service spec... Thanks for your help Rifledriver! You must have rebuilt a few of these little gems before!!
