Back To The Wilderness? - Pitpass.com Nice over-view of Ferrari, history and a lack of results. FA can only do so much to help them win.
I dont completly agree with the article but He has a point about Ferrari. Having been in it since the beginning i think it understandable that they will not always be successful every year - talk about boring - but as a team they are #1 all time. however the early - mid 70's 80' 90's have all been pretty lean years, with the most successful period really being at the beginning of the championship in the 50's.... I'm confident Ferrari will figure it out at some point, but the sorry fact is how much money will be wasted to get there... 5 more teams could be created with all that cash... Someone in F-1 said it a while ago, Ferrari is where you go to get rich.... not do the best work.
Interesting piece. Thanks for the link. Given their resources Ferrari "should" have achieved more. But its the sometimes irrational, often unproductive and usually self-defeating nature of the Scuderia that makes it so romantic.
+1 As Clarkson once noted, "they build their cars with passion & romance. Then they blow up with passion & romance." [Or something like that.] Cheers, Ian
