Lack of in season testing has already cost Ferrari at least on drivers championship.

"The 2014 engines are expected to cost an extra 7.5 million dollars per team per season. That is 1.5 billion dollars over the predicted life of the new formula, money which has to be found from somewhere, yet the indications are not promising."

Some more brilliant "cost cutting" at work...

EDIT: Just read that whole thing. The author of that definitely "gets it." Refreshing.

    Yeah I never got that.

"I know guys! Let's cut costs by changing the formula every five years, forcing the teams to spend a **** load developing a car from a blank piece of paper!"

    I've stolen this quote, but...

The easiest way to make a small fortune in racing is to start with a large one!

+1 Why are we 'Prius-izing' the pinnacle of motorsports? I dont know any fans here or other places asking for all this non racing related change. None. As pointed out the normal car industry can innovate without F1.

It is an interesting piece which shares one fault with the many similar ones in recent years : it makes no positive proposals

It may well be that in an era of globalisation & X factor we are being given an F1 reflecting them but....

This all started after max said f**k Concorde agreement and set rules on safety. the teams should come with all rule changes 1996 to 2002 the best in sport history it's going to crash and burn with out re fueling now fastest car gets out front and it's all over and the days of out racing a man is over when you can push a button
