    Now I have to check the parts manual because I don't remember having a distance or spring washer on mine. ???????????? Lost

    Looked in the parts book and I see a washer used on the cars with an exterior seal but I don't see anything for the engine with the seal inside. Mine is an 82 and I just changed the bearings and seals and there were no spring washers in either side and it doesn't appear as though anything was touched by bthe PO except the valve settinga and that's a whole other chapter. Lost

    FWIW My 79 has the internal seal and behind the outer sealed bearing was one of these washers. Not sure what it would really do except distance the bearing from the circlip....

    I would have to guess that the spring washer took up tolerance that Luigi couldn't obtain without CNC. I'm not concerned other than why the parts manaual doesn't show them. Then again I do come across variations in these posts. Lost
