Me and two friends are heading to Modena in 5 days to visit the Ferrari and Lamborghini Museums as well as taking a tour of the Pagani Factory. We have decided to make Modena our home base for those few days and are wondering where is a good place to stay??? Any helpful information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Real Fini was very nice. Ferrari put a group of us up there for one of the F1 test days.

My wife and I are leaving for Modena on Sunday and staying for two night at the Canal Grande Modena, looks like a good place from the papers we have on them. Maybe we'll run into you, visiting the F test track and Lambo factory as well.

From there we're going to Monza for the F1. First time in Italy...

Canal grande is an older hotel and very nice. The last time we were there they were in the middle of a refurbishing so it must be even nicer now. It's in the old city as oppossed to the Real Fini which is outside the center, but still easily walkable. Modena is one of our (my wife and I) favorite places. Hope you enjoy it too.

As Gary said the Real Fini is very nice but pricey - that's where we meet Gary when then for the F1 Test Day in April.

We've stayed many times at the Holiday Inn in Modena which is just off the A1 and VERY convenient to just about anything. Price is very reasonable in the vicinity of 90 +/- Eur including buffet breakfast. Our most favorite place to stay is the Best Western Domus in Maranello - again similar price with buffet breakfast. If you are flying into Malpensa - it's an extremely easy and quick airport to get in and out of for points beyond. Be sure to go to Il Cavallino and Montana or de William for dinner and enjoy a bottle (or two) of Sangiovese wine from the Umbria region then go to the Maranello Cafe for expresso.

You will love Italy - we were there three times in six months so I guess that says something. Much prefer the Modena/Maranello area over Rome (too busy) You get spoiled driving there too. If time permits, drive to San Marino and go to the Maranello Rosso Museum - definitely worth the short drive.

    Enjoy your trip.

the Planet Hotel!!! Directly across from the Ferrari factory. Great rooms,
large as far as european standards. Great service, close to everything
in Ferrari world, and incredible sounds at night. When you lay in your room
after an incredible dinner at "Montana", and you hear the scream of an F430
racing by, you can rest assured that your Maranello experience is complete,
assuming of course that you have toured the factory and been through
    the galleria, ferrari store etc.....

I had a great experience at the Best Westerm just a small walk from the factory. I do however like the last reply (the Planet Hotel), it was the sentance: hearing the sounds of the factory and the F430 going by. This would make your experience complete, provided you did have a factory tour.

    Chris.

We stayed at the Canalgrande 3 weeks ago. Very nice and quiet. But easy walk to the center of Modena. We ate at Restaurant Fini which was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Excellent food.

In Maranello (actually Fiorano), the Executive hotel is a great local place with lots of color. The planet Hotel is too Disneyland (read...tourist trap).

In Modena the Real Fini is brilliant. I have also stayed at the Forte Agip which was very nice (Like a Marriot).

Where ever you stay...........you will love Italy. If you do any shopping in Maranello, make sure you visit Hors Linge............and say hi to Paolo for me!

    Have fun............Dino

Another vote for Hotel Planet here...Room 406 to be specific!

Looks out over the main entrance gate to the Ferrari factory, I was out on the balcony so much, not really sure what the room was like. Actually, the room was very nice and in the center of it all Ferrari-wise. My wife and I are headed back next year with another couple (who stayed at Hotel Domus) and we all agreed that Hotel Planet is the place to be. Loved it!
