Planning a vacation for next year for two 18 year-olds, help?
My friend and I are going to Europe next summer, but we are not sure of what to do.

    Places we want to visit:
    France(I have family there)
    Germany
    Italy
    England
and we are open to any other place as well.

    Things to note:
    -We both have some money
    -We are coming from Florida
    -Somewhere around 2 weeks total
-We want to sight see as far as the cool stuff but it wont be the biggest part
    -We only speak english
-We want to have a lot of fun and explore
-hostels sound cool but i dont know what they are really
-5 star hotels are not needed at all
-We drink some but not so much into the party scene

Can you give us some suggestions of where to go and when?

Basically we want to have a good time and enjoy other cultures to the fullest.

If you end up in the Netherlands, as a tourist you have to visit Amsterdam, but Utrecht is also a very nice city and a lot less touristic. It has a big university and it has a lot of bar's so it's very easy to meet a lot of people your age and have an awesome time.

There's a lot to see in all those countries. You have two choices: 1) do the tour de Europe and spend a fractional amount of time in all of them or 2) do a little research into what's going on while you'll be there and focus your time into a few smaller regions or cities. You're young--you'll be able to go back. When I was your age I spent 2 weeks traveling through Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Caught 2 grands prix and saw a ton of cool places. Traveling throughout the Alps is pretty amazing.

I would love to do this one day, I want to backpack through Malaysia or Japan or something unique, not knowing the language adds to the fun factor for me. :D

To add to your list: Monaco would be fun.

Another thing I would want to do is to go to UK, and rent a car or SUV (so I could sleep in the back), and just drive, get ferried and go to Paris, Germany, Italy.

With the value of the USD what it is against the Euro, the party in Europe for the American tourist has been over for a while.

You may want to look into visiting Central & South America instead.

    Cheers

TV doesn't work half of the time in Rwanda. Nor does the internets lol

    Check out this company: www.contiki.com

They have tours for people your age. They are a lot of fun and cover alot of ground in Europe. You get a sample of each city, and it's a good way to figure out where you want to go back to later. You get a lot of free time to do your own thing, so it's not one of those follow the leader with the umbrella type of tours.

If you wanna make your own itinerary, i would suggest just getting a Eurorail pass and going to hostels. It's a lot of fun also. Another company that you can use with your own itinerary is www.busabout.com. I think contiki is the most convenient though and will be the most fun for your first time out......

    Have a great trip.....

AirBerlin flies straight from MIA to several places in GR, I'd suggest Munich as its fun but pricey.

From Munich you can hop a train anywhere

Italy man...... Fly into Malpensa, sample the culture and sophistication of Milan, cross to Rome and do the sights (Coloseum, Spanish Steps etcetc), then to Bologna (to visit Maserati), over to Maranello and be astounded, then finish in Venice before flying back. Amazing places, fantastic food and culture, beautiful girls everywhere and the amazing Italian way of food, girls, food, more girls, beer/wines, more girls!!!

I would honestly go with no itinerary. There's no sense in locking yourself down to something you've planned out in advance. Who knows what might happen while you're there. I would just fly into Paris or Amsterdam and take it from there.
