As most of you know Mr. Tom Tjaarda is scheduled to be the honored guest at ItalianCarFest this September.

Which brings to mind: Who would be a great honored guest in Sept. '07? With long lead times, it isn't too early to begin thinking about this.

As Jeremy Clarkson would say, "ze Germans" are running the show.

If you invited a Ferrari designer, it's likely he'd be Japanese.

    Yes, hence my statement

Truly unfortunate, as proven by the 430, Enzo, and 599

    Now that's a good idea!

Yes, the designer is now the scion of Pininfarina. Ferrari has reached the nexus of luxury and acurately reflects its desired GT image. Are Ferraris new designs timeless, reaching out to infiniti?

They'd save on the flight and hotel, but that probably wouldn't cover the bar tab and bail!

    :D ;)

I second that motion. Although he's Argentinian....great person, makes fantastic cars. Maybe he can bring one with him like he did when he visited that university in Georgia (was it Georgia Tech?).

I would see if Leonardo Fiorivanti was available. He's doing his own stuff now and may like the venue. In his days at Pininfarina he penned some heady stuff... would be interesting to hear his comments on Pininfarina's current direction.

Another thought would be Jim Glickenhaus - by 2007 his new Enzo follow on will have debuted and he could talk about it's gestation and working with Pininfarina - perhaps even BRING the car. THAT would be a draw like no other as at that time that car will still be the 'hot thing' after it's debut.

Scumacher? German but works for the Italians. The Italian cars owners would love to meet him...
