Simon has been here a long time...Swiss, IIRC..

Also Wolfgang in Germany is a world traveler and knows the ropes..

Talk to Tina in Denmark if you head further North...

That's the ones that come to mind with apologies to all the other good folks I know there!

    Thru this site.

I'd trust any of them for knowledge.....or with the keys!

There's active groups in Spain, and other languages, These are the ones using English to post here.....

Maximus, as a European Adventurer myself, I can suggest only 1 worthwhile route:

For an "entertaining and festive" trip, plan your trip for the beginning of August, when most of southern Europe is off work, partying and enjoying the summer holidays.

Start on the Southern border of Portugal/Spain, take the E-15 route through southern Spain, and head towards Jerez, Catalunya, to possibly catch some Formula1 testing at the local tracks during their summer break. Follow the E-15 down through to France and catch E-80 to head into the "hot spots", ie St. Tropez, Nice for some real action ! The E-80 will then take you into San Remo, Genoa and then pass through Milan on your way to Maranello....:)

From there, I would recommend travelling North through the Austrian Dolomites for breathtaking mountain roads, or drive along the Adriatic coast to Trieste for more beautiful Italian beaches.

You can order a Ferrari through one dealership and have it delivered to another... Simpler still, he can just go pick it up from the factory when it's ready...

Well I thought if you wanted to order a new one, you could only do if from the one that you fall in their "territory". So what happens if you order one in San Diego then move to New York and want it delivered there, which dealership gets paid the commission? Also, as far as wait lists go, could you just go find a dealership with the shortest list, then have it delivered to you.

As for routes in Europe... I've never been on a road in Austria that wasn't utterly beautiful.

If you like racing, go to the Nürburgring. But take care of you, you should be familiar with your new car!

Very nice places in the Alps are the Engadin with Passo dello Stelvio (Stilfser Joch, 2757 m) nearby and the Montafon (Silvretta Classic, vintage cars rally, 5. bis 8. Juli 2007, http://www.silvretta-classic.de/)

    Regards Christian
