Interesting...just heard about this. Should be some interesting cars around the Seattle area early June. http://www.playersrun.com/history/index05.html
i'm going to be there with camera as well. any hints as to where the cars are congregating? i would assume a downtown hotel location with a secure garage. i hope for their sake that they leave before the friday afternoon rush hour sets in on the region...
The one thing I can say is that I doubt Roland Linder will be participating, despite the fact that his picture is in the print ads.
I participated in the last 2 Players Run. I'm not doing it this year. I had a good time but I know of many dissatisfied customers. It's hard for these events to live up to the hype.
What type of problems do customers run into? I haven't heard anything of the sort, so I'd be curious to hear what you've got say, especially since you are a two time veteran of said Players Run. thanks!
Somebody let the cat out of the bag.... http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=134945970&postcount=1
Roland, Darn.... Sorry to hear that you're not participating this year. I was hoping to meet you and see your cool F40 LM that you built from the remains of Daryl's old F40 which crashed and burned here at SIR/Pacific Raceway. Gary PS: The TV ads featuring you and your car for Mothers Products looks great! I saw several of them on SpeedTV during F1 coverage awhile ago.
Roland, Hi... it's Nick in the TT NSX. Thanks again for making the call to HRE. They gave me the royal treatment!
42 took the first high-speed pictures of the event. . . . just a few hours ago. While 42motorsports.com as a community does not condone street racing, a few of us thought it nice to photograph some of the exotics on their way south from the beginning of the first stage in Seattle. Here they are. . . the first photos of the Player's Run 2005:
I am writing to the Governor (as soon as they figure out who it really is! ) and complaining about the state spending money on entering two Patrol cars in this rally!!! Why didn't they get stickers on the hood like everone else though??
So can anyone confirm news reports that several cars were stopped going 110mph+ on I-5? Not a good start....
The Player's Run crew set up Police escorts for the 1st forty miles of each leg....Don't think anyone was pulled over until they got out of the Seattle Area. The photo of the cop car posted here is an escort.
I saw on the local Portland news a whole story about the the run. They shgowed em all leaving then said the Wash and Oregon patrols pulled over 10 or more some in speeds exceeding a buck twenty. Mike
King5 mentioned there was a rolling road block setup further south near centralia pulling a large group of them over at once.
