Players Run Question

Hi Alex,

I saw them today in Topeka. Enzo, S7, Ford GT, Continental GT, Mosler, Vector, Eleanor, and General Lee were not there.

 

What exactly WAS there?

 

2 Modena's, 360 Spider, 355 Spider, F40, F40LM, both Murcielago's, 348 Spider, 2 Z4's, Diablo, Mini Cooper S, Smart, Shelby Series 1, 456, GT3, 2 996 Turbo's, Testarossa, Azure, Lincoln LS, Corvette, and Mercedes CL. That's all I can think of right now.

 

I was in KC this morning when they left the hotel. The General Lee and Eleanor WERE with them and left with the whole group. Maybe they didn't want to stop at topeka for some reason? Last I heard the Enzo is still locked up in Customs in NY. The S7 supposedly had shipping problems and is trying to meet up with them somewhere West of Denver. Hadn't heard anything on the Ford GT or the Bentley GT. Heard a couple of the yellow Porsches got caught doing about 185 yesterday on I35 by Carnie. Think they spent the evening in Missouri's finest metal hotel room. They definately weren't there last night but they were this morning so it sounds right. The radio was talking about the cops trying to pull all of the cars over about 4:00 yesterday. Let us know who makes it into Denver!!

btw I heard from someone who was at Topeka that there might have been a certain bet for $1K a person for whomever made it to the Colorado state line first!

Very nice. The Diablo must have caught up with them cause it wasn't there last night or this morning. Just heard from a couple guys who drove to Hays to watch them go by. Said they saw the green Murc, one of the F40s, the white 911 and one of the yellows go by them about an hour and a half ago at about 160+, too fast to even follow them with their camera.

 

The Diablo came by itself quite a bit later than the rest of them.

Topeka was just a perfect day at the track. I'm glad that I was able to give a bunch of rides. Helas, I can't take all of our friends out...
I was late in Denver because I had to take care of the blowned 930 and in Limon of a Tornado...But I was the first out to Estes Park.

Roalnd, got to see your car in KC, unfortunately didn't have a chance to meet you in person. Hope you had fun. It was great to see you guys come through. Also heard the S7 had some oil problems. Did the Enzo ever make the run that you know of?

 

How long were both F40's out? When we left to (try) to drive with the main group, about 11:25 or so, both F40's were still going round the track. It's an amazing sight and sound!

 

John and I were the first and last on the track with 65 laps done !!!
At least this time I left turn 3 in place and didn't have to visit the ER !!!
The S7 had electrical trouble on our way to Vegas and the Enzo had engine troubles...The LM ran well and so did John's F40 who did the ALL run..
I had the chance to have the Go Fast bus to tow my trailer on the very long freeways stretch.

What kinda of engine trouble's on the Enzo?

On a side note I'm gonna be in your neck of the woods this weekend. I'll be in Colorado Springs.

I heard something like this: a couple of valve springs were found in the oil pan. So, to allow him to make the event, Ferrari FedEx'd a new Enzo engine and sent a team of Italian mechanics on an airplane. Unfortunately, they forgot to FedEx the special lift required to do the service. <D'oh!>

And I was really hoping to see the Enzo in action... oh, well.

I also wanted to see the F40's in action, but I never seemed to time that right... they were always sitting when I was nearby. Fortunately, Colorado isn't too far away.

 

Saw it at the car show in Denver last week....wants 34K for it. Nothing special. Asked the guy (older gentleman) why he was selling it; among other things he said he didn't have the money he used to have. Told him I didn't either after I bought my 308, but now its gone I have plenty of money again!!

Its a Euro version w/single distributor, no A/C, seemed in good shape; serviced at Mondea and Concourse Cars in C Springs.

Driving to Vegas Thursday the Players Run guys blew past me on I-15 in Utah. Quite a site
