Entrance ramp to Rt 9w from a sideroad near Bear Mountain. Right foot gave too much gas and spun it into the guiderail. All in front of the local cop who was out on a traffic stop nearby.
Thats crazy, I was actually thinking of signing up for that event. When I saw how wet it was on saturday I was glad I didn't. I wouldn't want my first drive in a supcar to be in the wet, I would be paranoid enough to begin with.
Wow. That stinks but it is not a shock. Lots of power to people that did not know much about them, this is bound to happen. Glad to hear it was not worse.
Just an observation that all you do is make inflammatory posts here. I have yet to see one positive contribution. You remind me of the know-it-all pencil neck who got pummeled in school. Sorry for derailling this thread... just gets annoying after a while dude.
Its ok man, hes just saying that if he was driving that car he would have been able to take 90 degree turns at 250 mph. He must be some sort of race car driver or something. With so much experience, as proven by his profile, he would have def would have been able magically make that car defy the laws of physics. Yeah it def does get old after a while.
Shivam... smooth is actually right in this case, and Im certainly not criticizing his driving skills. But the repeated condescending tone just plain wore me out this time. As an aside... even though I was blasting up and down the PIP in the GDC FGT, I also got caught in a violent downpour with it on Rte 17 coming back in... and I was petrified. White knuckled it back into the Plaza lot.
I wasnt commenting on his driving skills either, but rather the fact that he called the person who was driving it inexperienced. I mean we dont know many details, but how do you just call someone an inexperienced hot foot just because they crashed a high performance vehicle. Even NASCAR and formula drivers slip, and I wouldnt call them inexperienced.
There's nothing meant to be condescending. What is meant, is that some you (twenty somethings) on here seem to think you are on the set of "The Fast and the Furious". I.E., aggressive driving on public roads is your God given right. The tide of public opinion is not with you. Here's another (puerile) example: I see complaints on here about what a d-ick some cop is if he cites you for no front plate. I don't like a front plate on my car either (and I don't have one mounted), but if I get a ticket -- I pay it and go on my merry way, without telling everyone or crying a river. As far as the acumen of the Ford GT's pilot: It's pretty safe to assume that most of those drivers on that "run" don't own exotic cars because they would not be spending so much money just to drive one for an afternoon. Not the first time some "kid" wrecked a GDC automobile due to inexperience or stupidity.
a couple things. 1. was not the GDC Ford GT 2. citing your opinion based on a front ticket plate is your right, as it is everyone elses. when the day comes when I have to deal with it, i will be ticked off by it and rightfully so 3. and I fall into that "twenty something" category, but since I've never met you, driven with you, or interacted with you (and i don't think you do with many people on this site) how can you speak about members aged 20-29 and their driving habits? like G said, find some positive and constructive things to say for once or just contribute elsewhere
This was the Players tour, there is a link there in the first post in the thread, and if you look at the transport truck next to the GT, the logo there should make it very obvious.
My error, I was under the impression it was the "rental" Ford GT. JStone: "...how can you speak about members aged 20-29 and their driving habits?" Firstly, I DID say "some" twenty somethings. Secondly, how can I speak of their driving habits ?? Well, those some, come on here a brag about their, at times, reckless and foolish actions. Peace.
Smooth, you need to back off, big time. All you've done here is insult people you don't know, insult their driving, insult their cars, and generally be rude and condescending. You weren't there (when the GT was hit, or when some of us were stopped etc.) You just can't "know" what happened or what someone did. It's that simple. You're just speculating (like others on here). BUT, while you have a right to your opinion, you don't have a right to go around bashing people. It's also not in the spirit of this board. Most people on here seem to want to get along. You might try making your criticism "constructive", if you must give it at all, but instead you seem intent on creating enemies. You're just not very smooth at all, I'm afraid. This is not a platform for you, it's a community of people who have common interests. You've contributed practically nothing positive on this site, so if you don't share our interests why are you here? (By the way, in insulting my 308 in a prior post, it shows you clearly have no idea of what it really means to be a Ferrari owner, and that it's about WAY more than just speed or power.) This is my effort to be polite (though I bet it's entirely lost on you and you certainly haven't extended others the same courtesy), and it's the last time I'm going to waste my time on your snide commentary. Suffice it to say, I hope the moderators of this board take notice.
The ignore list works like a charm. Just go to his profile and click on "add to ignor list" which is just to the right of "add to buddy list"
Not "bashing" people; bashing actions. If someone comes on here and says they were just caught raping some young girl, I don't try to see if I know the judge or D.A. to help them out of the jam. I wanna see him rot. Same idea with racing around on the public streets. (and, tell me it's not wrong and potentially deadly). I'm not one to assuage.
For what its worth, thats a pretty horrible analogy comparing rape to racing. Listen, Smooth. Since you live in our area and have a pretty bad opinion it seems about peopleo on here I have two suggestions. 1) come out and meet some of us Sunday morning. You still havent told me what your ride is. Believe me, there is no fast and furious going on with us. Most of us are too old for that. 2) If you can find nothing but the negatives and find it your responsibility to start debates and bad analogies, stop coming into our little microcasm of the internet. We really don't care to engage your debates anymore. I hope you go with #1. A nice drive with good people in nice cars is a cure for the anger you display, even if it's temporary.
I must be missing it. I just can't see what smooth is saying that is so wrong. Half the people on here are bigger whiners than him. BTW, the damage on the GT wasn't that bad.
Amen...(although comparing driving fast to rape is indefensible and the act of a true jerk, no matter how you say it.)
