HOLY MOLY!@!@@@ I though Forza was something special...looks like Sony is raining in Microsoft's XBox 360 Parade! Check out the video: http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/driving/f1/media.html Due out Q2 2006, the PS3 processor can process (decode and display) 12 channels of HD video simultaneously, and will span a game across 2 HD monitors at the same time should you actually have the hardware to do it. Xbox 360 either needs to be released early to get a running start in sales or head back to the drawing board...
And I thought Pole Position back in the 1980s was a kick ass game. I am at a loss for words for how truly awesome that looked and sounded...I hope one can unlock the "greats" like Senna, Prost, Villeneuve, Hill, etc.
BAD AZZ!!!!!!!!! I was going to buy a xbox 360 when it came out, but this is making me re-think things.........that video is amazing!!!!! Thanks richard!!
unbelieveable! I just showed my wife the clip and she was even impressed. I can't wait to get it next year.
That looks incredible! However, the sound is probably not in-game sound but just real-life race audio for the teaser. I hope they can get close. Did you guys see the PGR 3 for XBOX 360 video? Ferrari AND Lamborghini!!! http://www.gamespot.com/x360/driving/projectgothamracing3/index.html
HOLY COW! Can you Imagine how the Gran Turismo 5 will look on PS3? Edit: Found it http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/driving/granturismo5/preview_6124989.html?tag=boxcar_ps3_preview_headline
Sorry to break the news, but that video is a forged display video from SONY, or better said 'teasers'. It is intended to show only what they plan to do, but at the present it is just a mockup video of what it could be. And by the way the same to most of the E3 PS3 videos, only a couple are real in development videos, Fight Night 3 from EA and Killing Day from Ubisoft. If you think that video was impresive, you should take a look at the one for Motor Storm, forged too, but if they achive to do it when the hardware is ready... hmmm... Apparently SONY hardware is far from ready and behind schedule, while most of the XBOX 360 are real ingame footage. - Julio.
that was... that was just crap. most of the footage was of pre-rendered in-helmet pit cam which is totally useless, and a mexican wave. the physics looked like sped-up Starsky & Hutch chase scenes, and the sound wasn't really represented. my first dumb vid-attempt with a game that's been out for years is more entertaining: LFS_CS_2of5
Agree. Nothing to see here folks. It's amazing how so many people from this thread were lining up to buy the game and console based on this one phony promotional video.
Isn't it amazing how SONY Marketing managed to steal the show from Microsoft with 'fake' footage? - JUlio.
From what I read you actually have that backwards, kind of. The things microsoft showed that "came from the xbox 360" where actually being rendered on Apple G5's kinda funny if you think about it. There was an article the other day on CNET about it. However the Sony videos that were shown, at least many of them where actually being played by people right there on the spot, through the actual system itself.
I don't think is the forum for this discussion, but for those interested you should visit the big game Webs like IGN, Gamespot, Gamespy, Gamasutra, etc , instead of CNET. CNET or TV is not exactly what I would chose to know what is going on in the game industry, CNET do not even break on the surface of what that industry really is. BTW I did not get it in the wrong way, SONY does not have almost any game playable on the floor while Microsoft actually does. SONY does not even have a working prototype, just huge development platforms. Only the tech demo at the SONY presentation was actually shown in real time, however the hardware running it was not displayed. And regarding the G5 comment, it was the dev team of Killzone (PS3 title)who actually recognised that their trailer was actually render on a MAC of what they intend their game will look like in the PS3. Actually, Tim Sweeney (UT3) also commented about several of the videos being jus mockups to visualize what the games will look like. He did say that the day of the SONY presentation. Here is the link to the GAMESPY article , although there is more like this in other sites. As this is a racing forum, not a game site, this is my last comment about this issue here. Cheers, - Julio.
