Forza 2 Demo is out, been playing it a lot lately. Can't wait for the game.
The 1080p thing is a non-issue, since neither the XBOX or PS3 can run a game at 1080p60 smoothly. And the original 360 can still do 1080 just that the TV does the i>p conversion instead of the XBOX. The HDMI is nice though
HDMI is amazing! I was in Best Buy the other day when they were hooking up a new surround system they just got. They switched the tv from S-Video inputs to HDMI, and the difference was staggering. It was like going from the internet version of a picture to the full resolution copy.
Give me your honest no bull**** review of F1. I'm so scared that I'll spend 50$ for a game that has 0 re-playability. I beat Resistence and now it sucks except for online play. At least Halo1/2 is still badass in local multiplayer.
I really love it. When I first got, I was addicted to Career Mode, and now I am addicted to online multiplayer. After racing all the tracks, I get SO much more out of watching races, as I know every corner of every track and I can relate to what the driver is doing. I play it all the time. You won't be disappointed.
Xbox 360 here. I'm a Halo fan, but I just didn't see the value in the PS3. I am planning on getting a Wii though - even my wife played it and conceded that it was a lot of fun.
I might get xbox live for my xbox 360 so i can play demo's the game is comeing out in about 48 houers im going to get it and play it for ever!
Xbox 360 and Xobx 360 (elite) are the same just different colors and the elite has a 120 gb drive which no one in the world would need for games only if you play alot alot of games and watch dvd's on the 360... The game goes on sale tomorrow im going to get it as soon as i can
ML84, no you've missed the entire point of the Elite. Xbox360 Elite comes with HDMI. That was one of the biggest reasons why they created it.
I don't have a 360, so my comments are from general A/V experience, which I assume is applicable to the 360 (someone please correct if I'm wrong). I think it is not a fair comparison between HDMI and S-video. S-video typically can't do high-def or even progressive scan (I know for certain this is the case with PS2), so you were probably looking at low-def interlaced on S-video versus hi-def (780p or 1080i) on HDMI. You should also be able to get high-def on component outputs rather than HDMI -- suspect you would less difference between component and HDMI since both are high def.
Oh i forgot to say im geting it some time this week i dont have it yet i just no its the best on because i saw all the move trailers and played the demo at the mall and saw the pictures
HA HA Yeah it comes out tomorrow. Can't wait either. I heared you can hook up to 8 xboxes and 8 tvs to get a full 360 view.
Where you live is a different time..... Here in Vancouver Canada there in stores riight now... When i have some free time ill get one if its not sold out
I'm starting to get the inch to purchase a gaming system with the recent price cuts. I had the first PS, then enjoyed the x box. I'm a sports gamer (NCAA Football/Madden), with an interst in quality racing games. Is the PS3 that much better when it comes to gaming specs (I don't care about the DVD, ect.). Do you expect companies like EA Sports and 2k Sports to invest in making the PS3 games better if it is superior? I just cannot imagine paying an additional $150 for the PS3 if the gaming difference is marginal.
that's really helpful i think he meant are the games now oh-so-more-realistic and fun *to play* because of the newer technologies, or just prettier?
They're not even prettier. I think the XBOX 360 overall seems to have better graphics. And its cheaper, with a LOT more games out. I think thats why it's whippin' the PS3 in sales by a huge margin.
*sigh* again... forget money, forget prettyness, forget online stuff, forget dvd/blueray/whatever... are games on the latest machines THAT much more realistic and FUN than they were on the PS2/Xbox ?
I got both boxes. There are different games: XBox360: - PGR4 - Forza 2 PS3: - F1 - Ferrari Challenge - GT5 Enough reasons to get one each. Technically they're both very similar. I don't have much of a preference. The ON/OFF switch on the PS3 drives me nuts, but that's about it. It was a stupid design on the PS/2, but it got worse on PS3. I hit the switch about 5 times until it powers off instead of rebooting.
