Hello all. Just thought I'd drop by and introduce myself. I am a life long exotic car nut and Porsche 964 Turbo owner. Here are two pictures of my rig taken last fall on a bitterly cold day at Kart2Kart in Michigan. I have to say my little Turbo looks humble next to my friend's Ferraris. Saw the thread title, and was expecting the post to say "I'm a man of wealth and fame"! Welcome, nice to meet you! Great looking car. Cheers, Gordon
I'm not sure if I've met you, but your car is definitely familiar! Welcome to the site! I know I have photos of it somewhere in my archives
The 3.6 is one of my favorites also. My car, however, is a 3.3. Upside is I have, can and will modify my car without much fear of impacting value, something that can't be done to the 3.6. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It looks identical to a 3.6 (The looks of the 3.6 with those wheels are to die for), i guess the only difference is that the 3.6 has the full wing painted in body color without. Thanks for the pics, it's gorgeous!!
And you can do a few upgrades such as exhaust, intercooler, and wastegate spring to obtain a nice hp increase. I had a 1991 Turbo (which I sincerely regret selling now) which with the above mentioned items, factory RSR suspension, 993 Turbo brake upgrade, and maybe a few small other items made it kill F cars.
I've moved along similar lines with this car. I have a custom twin wastegate header that was a collaborative design between myself and Ben at M&K (based on 993 Bishof heat exchangers) and an M&K free-flowing muffler. I adapted the stock tips to the system. Running .9 bar with the stock K27 turbo, Leask adjustable warm up regulator and a JoeP dual manual boost control. For suspension I have H&R coilovers. Brakes are 3.6 front calipers and rotors up front and stock at the rear. Wheels are RH Speedline replicas. Overall, the car is down almost 200 lb below stock weight. This spring I'll be adding 964 cams, a lightweight flywheel and a Garrett GT35R turbo. Amenasce, the Turbo 3.6 is identical in appearance to the 3.3 except for the Speedline wheels, small mudflaps behind the front wheels and the "Turbo 3.6" script on the rear decklid. Many 3.3 owners upgrade to authentic Speedline wheels or the the RH "Speedline" replicas. The wing you are referring to was on the 3.6 Turbo S which is even more rare than the 3.6 itself.
Ah yes, the Leichtbau! The wheels really make the car. How did you get the weight down so much? Whats her weight now?
The stock heat exchangers, j pipe, cat, muffler and air injection are + 100 lb over the replacements. Up front there no more stock battery, tools, jack and spare.
