    Hi all,

I'm a Former U.S. Marine and I just had to share this message. I never, ever get emotional but for some reason, I can't stop tearing up today thinking of those who have died protecting us. Sometimes I think civilians don't appreciate how much servicemembers sacrifice... I can't transfer my thoughts into words...

Just remember that while you are going about your day, there is a LCPL somewhere hiking up and down mountains, conducting patrols...

It's not "Happy Memorial Day" but... Honor Memorial Day

One of the rare times I tear up, I feel the same as you. My ONE and ONLY charity today is the WWP. While on active duty mid 70s 15-20 of us traveled around southern CA for a week doing burial detail at military funerals. It was fun and games and drinking until .... The LT trying to give the folded up flag to the 30 ish mom with her two young children, her family with her the kids with confused sad looks ..... The world stopped at that moment, Taps was done and it was so quiet except for her shaking body and her crying. Not one dry eye, it affected everyone there that day. I had no clue what an honor is was at that moment to be there, so always remind yourself that Freedom is not Free. Never forget those who gave all for this country.
Thank you to all who have served, still serve and their families.
