So God said to me, "okay, John, what is it this time?"

And I said, "God, it is the Rolex 6599...the 18k 36mm OP that preceded my fabled 1013. With a 1000 series movement, fully serviced. The dial has a lot of Patina...but is all there, evenly aged lum on the hands and hour markers, very very good case. I've always wanted one of these since the first one I saw about 3 or 4 years ago. This is the first that I have seen since. They very rarely show up."

And God said, "well show me some pictures."

And I replied, well I already bought it, closed the deal this morning (Los Angeles time). The dealer, two brothers, have been in the watch business for 25 year in Naples, Italy.

And God gasped, "Naples? And you can't show me pictures?"

I replied, "I'm waiting for permission from the sellers to use theirs until the watch arrives and I can take my own."

God rubbed his face, "this isn't on eBay is it?"

"No," I laughed, "it's a long story how I came across this specific watch...but I think you'll be very proud of me and approve once you see it."

God stared at me, then nodded and went back into his office and closed the door. I could feel my anxiety and anticipation that comes right after the purchase of every new watch, when you haven't seen it in person and held it in your hand before the sale.

I'll post pictures when I have some to show everyone. So, in the last six months I've gone from down sizing to just one Rolex, to now back up to four. And that's it. I promise, not one more watch.

Nice. I wish you good luck in keeping that promise "not one more watch"...:) God certainly knows, I (probably most on here) haven't been able to keep that promise.

I said 3 watches. Now I have 10 center pieces. I have a 10 watch box. I dont want to buy another watch box.
Yesterday my AD called me for a DD40 YG which I have been looking at chrono24. I cant say no.
I guess i have to sell 1 watch or i will have to bite a bitter pill and buy another watch box.
    I dont like empty boxes.

I understand your dilemma completely. My buying this watch hasn't made me stop looking at the others I was considering. And two weeks ago I bought a vintage Rolex croc strap on an 18k Rolex buckle...just in case. I think I need a therapist...who like watches.
