I have never owned a F car before and this CS will be my first one. I have found one for a good deal and want to know if this is how much the Challenge Stradale goes for. It's a 2004 with around 9k miles going for $155k.
The person mentioend clean title. Is this normal price or something is not right? Is challenge Stradale a good move as the first ferrari I will own. I love the way the car sits, exhaust sound, interiror, just the whole look.

    Thanks
    Ben

from what I know, that price is FAR below market value..

I think you could easily sell that car for 185k+

    Ben,

You would be well appraised to do a bit of research on that vehicle as its price is quite suspect. It's too low.

Clean title refers to the vehicle having no liens or loans against it.

With your apparent level of Ferrari buying experience, I would run this by someone you know who might be more Ferrari-knowledgeable.

Is is a Euro car? Do you have a vin#. Has the car been in a major accident? There's something fishy here because that's way under market value.

Unless you've had contact with the seller, that auction does NOT say the car is going for $155K. The highest bid was $155K and it still didn't meet the reserve. Based on the bid retraction history for the auction, I suspect the reserve was at or just below $180K.

No offense Ben, but you must have crawled out from under a rock or something. You don't know how ebay works, you don't know jack about fcars yet you want to get a specialized racer for the road that is loud, fast and relatively expensive....???

I think you are pulling our leg here.

the last person that put the bid backed out, i got an email that he will let go for 155k. I have been around cars for long time, including my current Porsche, and know a lot about F cars. This one just sounds too good to be true for 155k.

you don't know what you are talking about. I know folks at that dealership and just spoke with them. The 155k price for the stradale you mentioned is NOT even close. You probably mistook their regular modena price for a stradale. Dream on buddy...

Frankie, why so rude?? The guy's just looking for advice.
Boardwalk Ferrari is highly reputable. I doubt they're screwing around. So if they let it go for 155, run all necessary checks and go for it!

Nah, don't mean to be rude, but asking for advice is one thing, but stating as facts that are completely false and misleading for the purpose of initiating a discussion is wrong. No offense, but "M3to360" was trying to state facts he had no clue about and when verified against the dealership, everything he said turned out to be false. Call Boardwalk yourself and ask if you don't believe me, but be prepared to be laughed out the door at the 155k Stradale price as "offered" to troller "M3to360".

A common SCAM on ebay is to send a fake email with a low-ball offer to one of the bidders. This is NOT from the actual seller (although it APPEARS to be), and is therefore not a genuine offer to purchase the car. Instead, the scam works by duping the prospective buyer to put a deposit down (eg $5k or whatever they can get away with) -- usually via a money-order or money-telegram. You'll obviously never hear from them again after they've received the money, and the REAL seller won't have a clue what you're talking about.

Exercise extreme caution! (Danger Will Robinson! Danger!)

My guess is that *wholesale* price on that car would be around $160-165.

YES! I get them all the time. I get a e-mail that the sale did not happen, and was I still in the market for a 10 pack of inflatable (companion) sheep?

$155,000 is a really low price. But, 9000 miles is also pretty high mileage for a CS.

M3to360, It does not matter what people tell you here. Do your own homework. Knowledge is power. Do a PPI and a Carfax. But hey, I'm not telling you anything that an experienced Ferrari buyer/shopper doesn't already know.

    PPI = Ferrari Buying 101

There we go again, 9K miles is regarded as pretty high mileage. That's a mere 4.5K miles per year on a car that's REALLY made to be driven. As I've said before, why can we do 20K miles a year on a porsche or honda and think its just fine, even great, yet regard a ferrari with 5K miles a year as if its on track to join an old age home.

High or low mileage will always vary from car to car. It always depends on what the current mileage average is in the cars that are currently available for sale. Nobody is saying the car is incapable of being driven. What is being said however is the Stradales currently for sale have roughly 400-12000 miles on them. So at this time 9000 miles is on the high side for mileage on this particular model due to what else is available for roughly the same price range.

True, 9000 miles on a car is low mileage. But, I learned long ago that in order to justify the costs of a Ferrari to stop calling it a "CAR". It is not a car as the rules that apply to almost every other car on the planet do not apply to a Ferrari.

9000 miles on a CS would make it the highest mileage CS I've seen. I would much rather have one with 2000 miles. I would spend $155,000 on a 9000 miler. I would not spend $175K on it though.

Quite simple to me: the market. If most Ferraris see low mileage (whatever that is, say 3k miles/year), then the *market* says such cars have high mileage.

    It's all relative.

Also, 20k on a porsche? I've experienced what happens with mileage on a porsche: astonishing depreciation. No different than on a Ferrari.
