ROAD TRIP! Serioursly Wayne, this is a once in a life time opportunity. If Keith Martin can do it with that POS Fiat, think about a F-Chat "connect the dots" trip! Dale BTW, following Route 66 would be very, very cool!
Unfortunately, it's snowing and the roads are salted! There wouldn't be anything left of it by the time it got here.
It's burgundy-ish, but I'm not even certain that it's a factory-correct color. The owner doesn't know the name of the color and I haven't been in touch with the restoration shop yet.
Come on, now. Did a little snow stop Gurney? Did it stop Yates? Remember, your car doesn't have any A/C so this would be a prefect time for a road trip, particularly through the wild, wild, west. Dr "Digging out his maps" Who
Wayne, Just for your information salt is not used on the streets or highways of Montana. Furthermore there is one bay open in my garage where a vintage Ferrari could be housed in heated comfort until spring. I'm thinking this is a really good idea for you to consider. If you want to leave it for a few years that would be ok too!!!
Good work, Wayne! You have driven a GTE before, haven't you? You do know what expect, right? I owe you the hundred bucks that I offered earlier in this thread. Should it go towards waterpumps? Delivery? F-Chat? I'd like to pay up! Welcome to the club from another vintage owner! --Matt
Thanks Matt! I've driven a Lusso and imagine it will be similar but with a bit more weight and understeer thrown in. As for the hundred bucks, I just wouldn't feel right accepting (this does NOT mean that Tom is off the hook, though!). Thanks for the offer!
Concrats Wayne, As for the waterpump as dretceterini said there are many, many different ways to skin a cat ... somebody clever somewhere (maybe you ) will sort it out. What we can guarantee is that this car will be one car that will have absolutely no confusion regarding it's history and numbers ... Pete
Way nice car...been reading this for a while and as you said in a previous post, 4,000 post with no Ferrari was research. You done good !
