Can someone please take some measurements for me?
I have a 360 and my brother (Nickgov on FChat) has a 430, while we were comparing cars we realized that my car was sitting lower than his. Upon doing research on Fchat, I found the different measurements for both cars, along with the proper measuring points. I can't seem to get a very accurate reading, but from my rough measurements it appears that my 360 is about 1/2" lower than spec, and his 430 is 1/2" higher than spec, hence mine looking about 1 1/2" lower than his car (spec is about 1/2" higher on the 430)!
We then took a string (actually line trimmer from a weed wacker) and measured from the wheel well to the top edge of the wheel center cap and confirmed the 1 1/2" difference. We are now both confused whether the 360 is lowered, or the 430 was raised (maybe to clear a driveway from the prior owner) or maybe both. Can you guys please take similar measurements from your 360's and 430's and post them? We are both very curious to know if our cars were left stock or altered.
    360 measured 12 1/2"
    430 measured 14 1/32"
Here is a pic of the measurement point:

My recollection is there are older threads about the 430 leaving the factory set high 'on stilts' and then having to be lowered - could be the case here that it is unchanged

Thanks Andy! Hmmm, based on your measurements, it appears that mine isn't lowered. (unless yours is lowered also). I'm shocked that yours measures 3/4" lower than mine, even though mine looks fairly low.

Curt, I would still like to hear your #'s because it's so hard to know 100% if a car is stock height or lowered since most owners don't know what the prior owner did (as in my case).
Since you know that yours was lowered already, I'm curious to see if it's lower or higher than mine.

Chris- The actual ride height numbers are in the workshop manual, and that is not how you measure ride height. It is measured from the cast suspension supports on the frame (photos page 568 in 360/Spider WSM). Numbers are 125.2 mm F and 146.8 R. Too many variables the way you are trying to do it.

Thanks Curt. It looks like yours is ~1/2" lower than mine. Can I assume that Andy's car was also lowered since it sits even lower than yours? I have a feeling that my car is stock height....now I have to wonder why my brothers seems to sit so high?

Thanks Taz. Yeah, I know I'm not measuring correctly, but when I tried to measure it according to the shop manual, I can't seem to get numbers that make sense. Both of our cars appear out of spec. My 360 appears 1/2" low, and my brothers 430 appears 1/2" high! (maybe I'm not finding the exact point that they are referring to). I'm not looking to change the suspension setting, so accuracy isn't that important to me. I'm just looking to check it against other cars so I can figure out if it is pretty much stock, lowered, or raised (in the case of my brothers 430). I'm just hoping that I'm within spec because I prefer to have it stock height since it was designed that way.
