    Hi,

For my 1987 328 GTS I followed the various posts here and was able to get all the pieces out EXCEPT for the top piece.
The windows popped out very easily after I just wiggled them a bit all around with a flat screwdriver. Anyone worried about this step needn't be concerned -it was quite easy.
I also got the center filler piece out by just prying it up a bit and then turning it out. I couldn't get to the bolt from the engine compartment. When I put it back I will either just glue or make up a new bolt to go in.

But I CAN'T get the top part off. I drilled out 2 rivets from each side at the top of the window frame, and one on the inside, as well as taking off the Targa top latch points. But it still seems to be fastened somewhere at the back. I hope it's not going to require removing the rear glass.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Did you remove the two trapezoid shaped pieces in the back? IIRC, there are tabs on the top part that fit behind them. I know there are some subtle differences between an 89 and an 87, but I didn't have to remove any glass on mine.

If you mean the ones on the lower portion at the sides, yes I did. From the way it's (not) moving it kind of feels like it is rivited at the back under the glass seal, like the other pieces that needed the side glass removed to do.

    Thanks.
