I have F 355 Year 97 Motronic 5.2. I have a slow down flashing when I started engine for 15 min and after I drive and use the high speed my slow down signal disappear. Then when I drive at low speed or stop the car and the engine still running the slow down signal start to flash again. Then I sent my car to the shop and check, change and switch all the sensor(thermocouple, lamda) and it still have the same result. Btw I'm using standard cats which no cats inside(straight pipe). Please help that I can suggest to my mechanic. And moreover I would like to buy TUBI test pipes please recommend where can I get it. Thanks in advance.

You said the mechanic replaced the thermocouple and "lamba" which I assume is the O2 sensors? But what about the catalyst ECU's? There are three of them, but it is the ones for the left and right catalyst that trip the "slow down" light. Did he test or replace them?

You can run a search on this site for more help/threads related to this topic.

I tried to search in the forum but most of all they said that the slow down flashing all the time. But in my case My slow down disappear when I use the speed and come back to flash again when idle. My mechanic use the computer to test and it always say "LH converter high temp" so they all change the new ECU and it starts to flash again when idle. My engine runs smooth no shut off any bank. We are very confusing about it and now they try to check all the wire connector. Thanks any way for your recommend. Any recommendation and suggestion will be appreciate.

Disconnect the system so it doesn't shut down either bank.

if the light keeps flashing, remove your gauge cluster and take out the bulb or put on some techno and dance to the rhythm of the light. (I picked the latter)

I know many disagree with me but I swear that the system is so pointless and annoying and if my car catches on fire (pretty sure i have a higher chance of getting struck by lightning) that's what insurance is for.

I've owned dozens of other cars that don't flash a light at me when my catalytic converters are supposedly having issues, why should I deal with a faulty system on this one?

Only downside I see to this is if you're selling the car, it's unethical to try to hide a "problem" but if you have no intentions of selling the car, may as well make it convenient for yourself and not have to put more money into the car.
